If you're thinking about buying a modified/larger diameter tensioner or something along those lines then definitely buy it from the US.
In this day and age, with the current exchange rate.. It's no headache whatsoever to buy a part from overseas.
And in most cases, it's actually the easier option.

Are you certain that the stock tensioner won't take up all the slack? Can't say i've ever heard this problem before.

I remember saying this in one of your other threads but I'll repeat it for you.

the stock tensioner should take up the slack with no problems. however your concern it engine timing, as when it takes up the extra slack it will retard your CAM TIMING a small amount equal to the amount of slack gained with shaving the head.

this is where adjustable cam gears come in.

the only other option for removing slack that I've heard of (even though that shouldn't be a problem) is EnDyn's second belt tensioner that bolts onto where the power steering pump goes and takes up the slack from the other side, conteracting the effects of slack and possibly a SMALL amount thrown out timing. however it means you cant run an upper timing cover.

stock one has heaps of play. How much was head/block decked? Couldn't be that much to warrant bigger tensioner
