Gday Guys,

Was wondering, is the coolent system in my D16y8 linear? ie from the top radiator hose, through the engine and back to the bottom radiator hose. is it one big strait line?

I ask this because I was wondering when doing a coolent change, if I took off both hoses and connected a hose to one end I could blow out any crap in there. Thus when installing new coolent I could be assured there was no crud in there?

Cheers.

yes the line is one, but it is not straight at all!

but still, to do it you need to you need to remove (and repalce) the thermostat and leave the heater controls in the cabin on HOT...

the thermostat is a wear item, so it fuks up regularly, so if it is out, it is best to replace it. abt 25-30 bucks each.

the hot air in your cabin does not magically appear, it is heated by coolant flowing through the heater core (like a mini radiator) inside the cabin.

so if you want to flush the entire cooling system you need to put the heater on hot so that coolant flows through the heater core...

why just flush ou the radiator? the cooling system is MUCH larger than that, any crud in the cooling system will just crud up the radiator...
