Hey all

hey im in the market for some new cam gears and a timing belt and i came across these, do you guys think this is a good deal? like quality wise? last thing i want is it to slip and my whole engine gone :/ any help would be great :)

id stay away from gates b series tbelts. it seems they have the wrong number of teeth.

really? do you know the right number for the timing belt for referance?

i don't know off the top of my head man, use google and you may or may not find it.

you can reference nate92's build thread, he bought a gates belt for his B18 and it simply would not work.

b18 has two more teeth than b16 to compensate for the taller deck height, and I've been told by the guy that tuned my car that gates is one less than B18 and one more than B16 so right in the middle. you will have serious issues aligning the timing correctly.

**** man thats serious, i got a qutoe from byp racing from benny he said 175 for the kit and said it should be fine but i might get him to check the teeth before i buy it. sound good?

yeah i got a gates timing belt, when i first got it they said all b series are the same and gave me one and found out that the b18 has 1 more tooth then the b16.. which made things harder but it got done! be careful when getting timing belts and make sure you get the correct one!

will do man i'll count the teeth on mine then order the right one :)
