Depends on how much you want to get out of the car...

Both have pros and cons.....

VAFCii costs less to install and tune compared to the E-Manage etc etc..

E-Manage has ignition control while the VAFCii hasn't got one etc etc...

isnt the greddy e manage an ecu? if so, u cant compare the 2
vafc 2 is used just to trick the oem ecu by putting new air fuel ratios and vtec engagement points.

VAFCii is not really classified as an ECU because it controls the A/F and VTEC only...

E-Manage is a piggy back ECU in this case....

$400AUD in Malaysia is still too much dude :P...

950 in Australia?? No one sells it for that much.. are you sure it's not the AVCR?

I was deciding between the two of these. I decided on a VAFC2 as it has 12 points of air/fuel adjustment on low cam and 12 on high cam, so 24 points. Most people just tune on the high cam from what I've heard.
The standard e-manage only has 5 points of adjustment. That can be increased to 12 points with the purchase of more software (about $200 I think). The e-manage obviously doesn't have the display and is probably harder for a 'beginner' to tune. But the e-manage, with the addition of another loom and software can also adjust the timing. But for the cost of all that I would say your better off getting a power fc.

As for tuning it yourself.... you'd either want a sacrificial motor or lots of money (in which case you'd pay someone to do unless you were dead keen on learning). Even if you had a $1000+ wide band lamda meter you still want to monitor knock and timing as the timing will change with the manipulation of the map signal. So - you could tune it to a nice air-flow ratio but because of timing advance or similar the car could be running too hot and detonation could occur. Could end up with less power if the car is still going.

Spend $250 and get it dyno tuned - before and after dyno plots and no surprises. Up to you though.
