Quick noob question:
Just got new clutch done, I'm aware that I have to take it easy stop and go normal driving for about 500-1000ks with no launching or riding.
Question is can I engine brake? Some people tell me not too and some say it's fine

Cheers ozhonda

Drive like a grandma for the first 1000km

If you are an expert at Heel-toeing and you can rev match perfectly then yeah, go for it. Other wise just use your brakes - it works for 90% of the daily commuting population.

Once the clutch is fully in - go nuts

As above - 500kms of normal no over loading the clutch. Just drive easily and no steep hill starts or burnouts !

what about on dyno where they do 3rd gear pulls
no hard shifting just wot on 3rd gear all the way to redline then clutch off

Full engagement is usually ok, but get some kms on the clutch first so you know its definitely not slipping

Depending on where you live, no hill starts may not be possible.

go for a trip to the gong or central/south coast and then back - easy 500klms will do the trick.

but to answer your engine braking - this is ok to do, as long as your not engine braking from high rpms, and try not to ride the clutch too much or let off from launch too quick as you may experience shrudder/jerking feel.

So I've done 480ks now, the friction point seems to be moved up abit tiny bit more than halfway? (say 1cm) Is this normal?

wen i done my clutch i babied it first 700kms than gradually gave it more power towards the 1000km mark, not hard launches, but more so how u would drive on a DD basis, an the pedal felt much better by that time.
