Just refreshed my headlights with some
wet and dry and a bit of elbow grease.
Came up mint az. Was really hazy so i sanded
and polished with buffer afterwards. Anybody
else have problems with weather damage on their lights?

I recommend that you spray them with the UV protection stuff. Repco sell it.

I think I know what you're talking about... my right headlight appears to have some heavy build up of some sort from the inside.. not sure what, probs due to the HIDs. Anyone know how to clean the inside? Or anyone who will do it?

Had the same issue, and was quite severe. Check out this link on my restoration.

i remember reading in another thread the cl9s tend to have poor sealing on their headlights as moisture tends to build up inside?

had the same problem with mine, so i just replaced the whole headlight

This stuff is great for restoring headlights and cleaning oxidisation which is a common problem with most modern and old cars it's called carnauba wax. You can find the website at http://www.fw1.com.au

Bit off topic but for non OEM rear lenses(CL9 and CU2) and fogs(CL9 only) at reasonable pricing look here.

Try ebay..

That was the first place I checked. I wouldn't be asking otherwise.

I ended up replacing my car's headlights with aftermarket units made in Taiwan by TYC.

http://www.tyc.com.tw/lan_en/products.php?class_sn=1

I sourced them from ebay.co.uk from a bloke called wingmirrorwoman (who is really wingmirrorman):

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/honda-accord-head-light-head-lamp-unit-front-clear-h1-2005-2008-left-/180740627784?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a14fb1d48

They cost $550 delivered (well packed) compared to $1,555 quoted by Honda for the two headlights. They are well made but the beam output, though set for RHD, is NOT OEM standard and not exactly ECE shape but I am happy with them.

The seller was good to deal with.

Hey guys, Just recently bought a headlight restoration kit from Autobarn (picture of a red ford on the front), and I gotta say, I've had a pretty incredible result from them. They didn't turn out perfect like I'd hoped but that's because I couldn't apply the last coat of UV protection thingo correctly, but still, crystal clear finish from a pretty badly scratched, oxidised, yellow tinged headlight. Did both my headlights, took less than an hour, ridiculously easy steps. Only cost me $40. Best way to go! If you're having the same trouble of some form of damage to the headlight, fading, scratches, yellow tinge, I highly recommend you get yourself one of these kits!

I was also going to suggest the Autobarn sold product but I did know they were still in business since they went out of business in Darwin.

I tried just some scratch removal polish that I've used previously on my Toyota Aristo lights and it worked a treat on them. However not so much on the Accord Euro. I kind of think moisture has entered under the lens and has stained the inside - from a quick look it seems I would need to heat these up in the over to pry them open and clean them, which is a bit of a bugger.

If you use scratch removal polish like Novus, note that this will remove some or all of the UV coating on the lenses. Unless you put a fresh UV stable film or coating onto the lens covers, they will yellow/oxidise again within a few weeks. That's why you need the kit.

I noticed that Repco have a headlight resto kit with the UV sealant for $40 at the moment (on sale, 35% off apparently): http://catalogues.repco.com.au/offer/automotive-lighting/repco-headlight-restoration-kit/4raw9qpli.html?source=catalogue

Might get one of these and give it a crack this w/end if I get some time.
