hey guys ive been looking to buy a car lately and i am really interested in the integras. ive found a few integras up for sale but what i dont understand is what is the difference between a b18c and a b18c2? i know the number at the end represents like where the car is located. like australias version of the b18's is the b18c2. but this integra that i saw on for sale only has a b18c. and also the rev count goes up to 10? instead of 9 in the vtir's? please correct me if im wrong. cheers

In simple terms...

B18C - Jap Spec Type R Engine
B18C Dual Plenum Intake Manifold - SIR/GSR Engine - Like the Vti-R engine except with a bit more "rated" power
B18C2 - Found in Vti-R Integras
B18C7 - Aus Spec Type R Engine

"i saw on for sale only has a b18c. and also the rev count goes up to 10? instead of 9 in the vtir's? "

Well then its probably had a conversion done to it including the cluster....

i think i recall this being covered numerous times on this forum, actually it has been

there is also google, where the first link that comes up explains the engines and what cars they are from.

sorry to be arrogant, but there is a search button.

It's hard to say what engine he is talking about

If you go see the car you will be able to tell by the engine number

And also the intake manifold

I know that car, it used to be in sydney....

i inspected it for a friend once..... its originally gsi, has jdm b18c VTiR engine, blows shit ton of smoke, SR4 driverside recaros dont recline back
engine bay is not resprayed and looks really weird with black and yellow outside..

btw we negotiated the sydney owner down to 3.5k with rego but we bought a cleaner car same day...

this car was on for sale not too long ago but the ad expired. but before it expired, he took a picture of the engine number and it only said B18C.

A quick Q's, do B18C2 (VTIR) engines share same internals etc as other B series motors? I was planning on building & going to get forged pistons, camshaft etc. Still doing some research!

it has a greater stroke then a b16, so i think the conrods are different.
and the pistons have a different height from top to gudgin pin.

cylinder width is the same, since the use the same gasket.
