Civic ED air vent [thing] removal

boys and girls,

does anyone know how to remove this air vent controller thing. or is it not removable? i wont take "take the dash out" as an answer. dont make me hack the crap outta it till i got a hole.

the knob just pulls off, then you can pop the face plate out with a small screw driver. Remove the two screws and the slide mechanism should be loose. Why do you want to remove it?

Thanks for the reply, mark! But I only figured the knob and faceplate come off after I took off the coin case.

But yeah, I cut out those mounting plates and now that hole serves as an iPhone holder. Works really well with speaker phone!
