you should see me when i was in japan last year, i would see a sign (when we're trying to find directions) and constantly look up and down at my katakana/hiragana chart trying to read things lol

"it seems whack but at least it's uniform and consistent" whereas in english, you could say "whack it seems, but uniformity and consistency has presence"

as well as 10 million other permutations of the english language. We're just used to it

thats true, however they still have words which have multiple meanings and then the kanji :O
