GSR Vtec chocking

hey guys not too sure why my vtecs lagging when it engages it sometime chokes or sputters or just it delays and the valves open later .

recently was told my vtec solenoid seal was broken so i ordered one in . not too sure if thats why its happening ?

Look at the spark plugs or distributor cap.

i know this might sound stupid but check your oil level?
