hi guys in the market for an s2k and came across this

I went to look at an S2000 yesterday that I am happy with. I made an offer but the owner and myself are playing hard ball with the price. Hopefully I'll look at one more this week and make up my mind.

Black one with black interior, had 129,000kms on the clock. The body and interior were excellent, the roof was average, I think the clutch may need some attention because it felt pretty spongey, but it drove well. He is asking 21.5k and I offered 20k.. Hoping to hear back from him. It was pretty funny I was going through the boot and under the tool box I found an old porno magazine, when I pointed it out the owner said "That comes with the car too."

On my way home my friend mentioned that the car didn't have a rego sticker on the front, when I got home I found a photo of the car and he was right. I typed in the plates in the vic roads rego check thing and it came back right.. So I'm hoping he just lost the sticker or something haha.

So he called up today and said he would take 21k to which I said I wasn't interested. He then said he would take 20.5k and I said I want to look at one more S2000, if it's no good I'll accept his offer.

Just called up about another one with slightly higher kms, but the price is negotiable at 21k. Going to have a look at it on Wednesday, if it's no good I'll put a deposit on the black one this week.

forgot to mention, the one I'm looking at on Wednesday needs a new rear window for the road worthy (which the owner is willing to organise), I told them that I thought you had to replace the whole roof, but they said that there is a place that can replace just the plastic window. Has anybody heard of this? I suppose I would be okay with it as long as it came with some sort of warranty or looked okay.

the previous owner had done something to the exhaust, but I'm not exactly sure what because it looks stock but is quite loud. Should I try source a stock exhaust or try add a resonator or something to this one?

I'd work out what they did first. Not much point in sourcing and replacing the entire exhaust to find out they'd replaced the header.

GMAX Defiant, 18x7.5, I don't hate the way they look but they are not my style. I would much rather something Japanese in 17x9

So with the exhaust it is the stock cat back with aftermarket mufflers and stock tips... Going to be hard to find stock S2000 mufflers

Going to be hard to find stock S2000 mufflers

It will probably be pretty easy to find a complete stock exhaust. Many have replaced them and there's not a huge market for them.

Yeah I had a look on eBay and there is only one system in Sydney and it's pick up only. I can't seem to find any other cat backs elsewhere. I will miss how easy it was to find second hand Nissan parts... Oh well, still love the S2000 already :)
