I have decided to go with a B16B Vtec Engine because I am buying a good one from a friend for $500 it did only 120,000kms, but it has a Automatic gearbox.
So I am gonna buy a B18c2 manual gearbox/ converison,

to make the engine go awesome, what camchafts, turbo (maybe), pistons, head, intake mainfold, or what ever to make it to go great with hillclimbs, everyday car, motorkhana and suprise my friends haha.

Cheers from no brainer with engine modifcations other than how to fit it haha

Don't for the love of god put a b18c2 box on it lol.

Put an ITR 4.7 FD box on it. B20 block. OEM camshafts are some of the most aggressive OEM shafts available. I'd just run it like that, you'd be surprised by how enjoyable it would be.

As I said I am a no brainer, but it has a auto, would a b16a have one?

check the block it will have B16B, B16A2 or B16A stamped on the front of the block. Be careful you want an OBD2A engine.

Fingers crossed for you.

B20 block with appropriate conversion parts. B16A/B16B head, either is good but B is better. ITR GBox and you're laughing.

Most of these B-series VTEC setups will chomp V6 commodores anyway but a B20 with ITR box will be a real laugh.

Sounds like a real good breakfast!!!! :D I might as well just buy a B20B engine and replace the head on it and gearbox in it while its still out with new camshafts, pistons, heavy duty clutch. hahaha. How well does it go will low speed? still pulls great from 0? not slugish?

-.- yes i am a no brainer noob, but you havent seen me drive yet ;) hahaha. And the other reason I ask a fair bit of questions is because I want to make a softie car into a street weapon haha. Like I am gonna try and put a S2000 Vtec engine into a Mk2 'grannie' Ford Escort 4 door sleeper, with the same factory trim lol

If you are running a b20b bottom end with b16 head & type r gearbox, you won't really need to change pistons and cams unless you have a spare 5-6k lying around. IMO not worth all that money for minimal gains. Would rather stick a GT35R on it with that money, as this is your best choice for kw gains/money spent value. OEM built b20b/b16 will most likely net you between 120 & 130kw, built b20b/b16 with high comp pistons, race cam, e85 etc will give you approx 140-150kw and boosting an OEM built b20b/b16 will give you 170kw+
