yes, blue is standard for AUDM. JDM pre-FL Absolute is red and thats the only different color for RB1

Nice... what year and colour is your RB1? Hope it's not a Face-lifted 06+ Silver ;)

Just a few things you might want to consider:

1) Check that the bezel on your foggies will fit your Modulo lip kit as the ones for the Absolute model is different.

2) Would suggest you go the full hog and upgrade front and rear rotors and pads plus get Stainless Steel brake lines. You will not get any braking improvement just with front slotted rotors.

3) Go for K&N filter, HKS is a use and throw away, where as K&N is washable.

My ODC is pearl white..

Edit: pre-FL - 10/2005

Any locals selling braided brake lines?

What pads do u recommend?

Ill see how i go with the fog lights as i know i got to cut through the front bumper.

Do you know if there are markings behind the front bumper so i can use it as a cut out guide? My kit didnt come with any templates etc.

Might tackle the foglight install this weekend. got a dremel kit to ease up the tight cutting.. just gotta figure out the wiring/harness of the foglight ..

Also do you know if the 3rd row seats need to be in IGN mode to power up?

Actually I wouldn't recommend getting fog lights only because I haven't used mine at all after installing them, but yeah only aka_NSX has done the install for a pre-facelift and his ODC has got the Modulo front lip as well.

In terms of pad recommendations, I've heard EBC green/red is good for grip and less brake dust
I haven't used them before as I'm using a Big Brake kit upgrade on the front with proprietary pads and RDA rotors and pads on the rear

Not sure who does SS brake lines for the Odyssey locally as mine came with the BBK upgrade kit, might have to ask some brake places?

Key doesn't need to be inserted to operate the auto 3rd row, but I think the car must be on ground (ie not jacked up). I had the car up on the hoist once and tried to operate the third row and it wouldn't move.

do they have these wheels locally in the AUDM Euro's? (NON -R)

got a set of these puppies lastnight and gunna wack them on the ODC for now until funds become available for 18x9 staggered sets :)

The wheels are OEM Honda made by Enkei, 17x7 +55

I beleieve, this design comes standard on the JDM CL7 Euro R in gunmetal

AUDM Accord Euro 05 CL9 Lux, 06 CL9 Sport and 07 Limited Edition came with these as well, but in Silver.

They aren't that 'special', but they look nice

As for the tires, they are too small, you will need to change to a 50 profile tire to fit on the Odyssey to get the proper speedo reading

Hi Rage King

Welcome to the ODC family :p

18's arent going to give you "stance" your going to need some 20's and what do you know i have some mint AME's FS :) below are some images so give me a shout

[F] 20x8.5 +40
[R] 20x9.0 +38

Also, again relating to "stance" imo the TEIN's arent going to give you that ride height you need to achieve "stance" It's lowest setting will be too high (but thats just me bcos i love super low) i'd suggest some RSR's or bag it :)

wow 2k1cvc - that is some nice ODC u got ... 20's is abit too big for me, as the bangabus is always fully loaded, hence why 18's or 19's worse case is what im looking for.

also i dont want too much issues with rubbing/rolling etc. but yes i know what you mean by stance. :)

RSR's? - how much are they? similar to Teins super flex wagon?

20 is never to big :p 20’s are the new 18’s…. Trust me :p, if you bought 18’s, you will wish you bought 20 :p This was my daily only until recently, I have no issues with scrubbing however I did roll the rear wheels arch lips a little just in-case as I’m running a -1 camber. It is the size & width (before anything more aggressive) with no issues what so ever. Are you in Sydney? You must see to understand J

With that said perhaps a Odyssey meet In Sydney guys?

RSR’s I bought 2nd from a guy in this forum, he they go much lower than the TEIN’s so with 20’s you won’t have a issue.

Got the foggies installed from Honda Dealer a week after buying the car, they stuffed up something in our papers so gave us free foggies. They cut and installed J

A few guys here are on 20’s…. There is 3 RB1’s that I know of and 2 RB3’s and we all dads with fams J

a sydney meet would be nice, like to see the other ODC's around. i see a white one around my area but forgot the plates. (western syd).

where can the RSR's be bought? O/S i guess? linkage?

only reason is i always have a full load in the car and dont want scrubbing whatsoever. maybe 19's would be the way to go for me.

what would be the ideal ET for fronts - 19x8 and rear -19x9 for a deep dish look?

would i need to roll any guards?

will i need camber kits?

Rim size is not going to cause you scrubbing, it’s how aggressive you play around with offset and width of rim plus how low you go, that will determine if you scrub or not.

The more dish, the crazier your offset and width will be – the closer you get to scrubbing and having to roll guards.

My previous set up was just with springs (which was great) TEIN S-TECH (1.5inch drop) with 20x8.5 +40 all round no scrubs, no guard rolling or anything – perfect for just everyday driving with 2 kids in the back, and looks clean and simple – see below

http://i.imgur.com/EArnhl.jpg[/IMG

http://i.imgur.com/eI61wl.jpg[/IMG

20 is not too big especially for this car, I think they are the perfect size.

Since we bought our 2nd family car, it was no longer the daily so I bought these new 20’s that I have explained above,

http://i.imgur.com/ETAwHl.jpg[/IMG

however I want a more aggressive look as it’s no longer a daily “20x10 +35(R)” and (20x8.5 +30(F)” so hence I am selling them.

If you want anything like the video you have shown, you will definitely need to roll your guards and select a bigger rim size.

Camber kits? Well it depends if you want to save your tyres, here is a pic (not so good as its side on) of my car without camber kits and dumped to its lowest setting

You should be able to tell that the rear has massive camber so if that is a look your after, then don’t bother getting them

http://i.imgur.com/Y9jMjl.jpg[/IMG

If you want a more “phat/flush” look, them get them (refer to this thread)

I like the first rims u got dude, i like that style rather than the bling.. I think your right with 20's makes it look good but what was your profile ? 30/35?

So a 20x8.5 +40 will fit wthout any rolling, scrubbing, camber .. That seems to be a better look and spec for me..

Thanks again...

Btw u still got those first rims? Lol

Rage King, just my 2 cents.

Generally what sort of driving do you do? If its mostly smooth roads, then a low car with large rims and mad camber is still alright. But if the roads are rough, I wouldn't recommend going past 18" rims for comfort and going too low will cause shit loads of problems. The Odyssey is pretty long and getting stuck on humps and enduring scrapes to the under carriage is not fun.

Low and big wheels is cool, but just remember the Odysseys you see are from Japan and their roads are much flatter and smoother than Australia. Fit those specs on a daily be prepared to loose some comfort. But I'm sure you already know that :)

Rage King

^^thanks for the advice bud.

Yes that is exactly why i want 18-19" as i do alot of interstate driving. So being too low is a no go.

Ill test trial the height once i get coilovers Then ill choose from there what wheel size to get.

Well done mate, the fact that you can install your own rotors means your DIY skills are way better than most of us here :)

How are you supposed to control the foggies with a non-OEM kit? My OEM kit requires a change to the indicator stalk and when the foggies get switched on there is an icon that appears in the instrument cluster, will this kit also have an indicator when foggies are switched on?

Thanks bud.

Well, the kit came with a switch which looks like oem type with a light indicator.

This kit was suppose to be plug and play, but its not.

There is a fused cable with a brown plug looks like this is the direct battery power.

Then a thin red wire with a pigtail which doesnt seem to plug anywhere oem style.

So im going to cut off the pigtails and wire up this red cable to the parklight switch which is fused at the IGN point. This way if i forget to switch off the main foglight switch once i remove the key it will auto shut off.

Only downfall is i wont have the fog light indicator on the cluster.

Im looking at a switch lever in YAJ but they dont fckin respond or ship OS. :(

Well ive managed to figure out the wiring. Had to solder here and there and also extend the power cables :(

Shes pretty much good now except to finish the last wire for the park light splice in and the bottom spash guards at the front bar.

Then test drive the new rotors tmr.

Next plans;
- prep, refurbish, paint modulo rear lip with the rear bar (to match colour)
- source coilovers
- source decent headers and change dump pipe to back piping to 2.5".

Would an after market headers and 2.5inch exhaust system make any difference to the power / torque of the ODC? - in other words is it worth to do but using the oem muffler to maintain the noise levels quite?

nah not really big plans just want it to flow and response better especially along the highway driving ..

also i dont want the noise to change. right now its all OEM quiteness and id like to maintain that noise levels. hence why ill retain the oem muffler and just change all the piping front header to back.

was even thinking of sourcing an Absolute ECU plug and play but dont know if our AUDM motors will cater the absolute ecu tune.

IMO, better not think about Absolute ecu to AUDM motor unless engine swap. need power -> bolt-on FI is the way to go

yeh i guess so .. no point for absolute ecu might as well just get kpro ftw! lol.

but nah im not going to go down that path ...probably just full 2.5inch exhaust to match the downpipe from the headers (as this is bigger in diameter than the rest of the piping).

Will it make the car perform better with a header and piping change will leaving the mufflers stock? There will still be exhaust restrictions at the mufflers. I don't think doing that will have any performance gains, but I don't know enough about these things cos I've not done a full IHE change.

The FGK exhaust AusAccord has is I think one of the quietest full catback systems based on a video I saw a few years ago. We have a thread on exhaust db levels

The Absolute ECU would have been tuned for the performance JDM (200bhp) K24A which has different internals to our economy K24A6 (160bhp). So getting the ECU without the engine is going to be a waste of time. HKS bolt on turbo kit for the Odyssey is the simplest way to increase performace.

Don't think KPro will work on our car, mostly I've seen Unichip Ver Q being used. From what I have heard Unichip+Exhaust+intake change will only increase HP by 15-20. But all this is based on reading what other people have written in forums.

Err not wanting to be a wet blanket, but you do know that HID's at that Kelvin perform really badly in rain and fog. Your foglights in normal conditions will be bright as hell and most prob blind on coming traffic, but will be useless in fog.

in my old ride i had 8k kelvin HID's on a non projector and that was blinding but performed well in the night and rain .. but our ODC's are projectors so i dont know what the outcome will be - once fitted then ill know. BUT yes you are right depending on how heavy the rain is any lights are bad unless your using yellow bulbs imo.

6K is not as bad as the 8K kelvin ..as ive test trialed both in my old ride, and found 6k whiter than 8k having a tab bluish effect which is shit. lol

yes i guess your right... whats the point of having a full exhaust and retaining the oem muffler :( . in saying that what is the FGK brand? i watched a youtube of another ODC with the HKS legamx and on idle he was revving it and it didnt sound too loud ..

hmmm might have to dig further into this before buying any exhaust parts as yet. Maybe just a header to CAT (replace oem CAT) and leave all catback oem. there will still be restrictions but as long as it runs abit better .

I change my Odyssey's low beams to 4300k and left the foggies stock. My Civic has 6000k and I feel the 4300k might be the best compromise between output and visibility.

FGK is short for Fujitsubo, AusAccord and aka_NSX has the FGK Wagolis, Atjo and I have the HKS Legamax Premium although mine was for the Absolute model and needed modifications to fit. The Youtube you saw was most probably Atjo's system. Another member Mobil1 had the HKS hiPower 409 and that one was loud. Most companies only make cat back systems for the RB1, might be a challange to find a header.

Any one know what is the OD of the oem front rotors? 300mm?

thinking of test trial fitment using JDM DC5R/RSX front Brembo calipers. - apparently they are fitted on the dc5R's OEM 300mm rotor as well, so the only thing is the thickness, inside diameter clearance and caliper mounting positions will be the culprits. Theyre both 5x114 PCD's so that shouldnt be an issue.

now to find brembos locally to trial fit. :( got a mate whos got the set but hes too scared to remove them for trial fitment LOLOLOLOL

its hard to confirm these things unless someone has physically installed / test trialled themselves.. :(

if its just offset issue then a bracket can be made up... - all test and trial i guess.

im just thinking of a brake upgrade due to the heavy load of the ODC when stopping . such a crappy feel. so if my mate allows me to test trial fit one and spin the rotors freely without issues then well know then...but for the meantime ill just keep dreaming :p hahaha

believe my mechanic tested fit a set of JDM Brembo either from DC5R/FD2R onto RB1 with no luck. also JDM DC5R/FD2R Brembo has cast bracket so custom bracket is no go, only shave and spacer can be done. have said all above or on OH, i'm no expert on modification but just a normal RB1 user only....

Mr Ling, you need to get SMD LEDs, the normal LEDs are just too dim.

The number plate ones are just T10 wedge bulbs, just make sure you get about 5 SMD LEDs per bulb

So now i need a better quality H11 6k bulb. This is what happens when u buy crappy cheap stuff from O/S.

The ballast and wiring looks good quality and didnt even heated up but the bulb was a POS.

Ive msg the dude who ive bought this kit resolve or send the replacement bulb or refund a portion of my $$ so i can buy a better quality H11 hid bulb.

Parker lights are the ones at the front next to your low beams but inside your high beam lens.

1) i only installed wiper slot front rotors and better brake pads. Calipers are the same. It feels much better than the stock rotors and stops quicker!

2) i did have HID but the bulbs were defective. So right now im not running them until the replacements arrive but still have the ballasts installed.

The ballasts are installed next to the top strut towers. As pictured on my pics. Others have installed theirs under the headlight housing. Icbf taking out my headlights hence why i installed them where i placed it. Looks legit and professional.

Its not illegal to run HID on our cars as they came HID option and we have projector lenses. As long as you dont use stupid colours above 8000k lumins then you should be right.

U shouldnt have to adjust the levels unless they were off. The adjusting screws are on the back of the low beam headlight housing.

Hope this helps. Just look at my pics and what others have done - you should be ok.

Errr actually it is 'illegal' to fit HID on our cars, because you need projector head lights, head light washers and self levelling. It just isn't as obvious on our cars because of the projectors and the boys in blue can't be bothered with family 7 seater wagons. So as long as you don't go for some wierd a55 purple colour, you should be fine. I suggest sticking to at most 6000k, 4300 to be safe.

Its funny that the regulations say that auto levelling and washers are required but if u look closely to most new cars now they will have auto levelling but the headlight washers are actually blocked off or dont exists. Lol and this is in Auatralian cars.

Even the JDM ODC with the oem HID dont have the washers.. Lol

BUT european cars the headlight washers are existent. Weird.

When looked closer, they are bright, but because it was taken from a cam phone, number plate covers/protectors, and the angle i took the pic from did not help with the coverage of the light rays lol..

Weird.

Which cars on OZ have HID's with no washers?

Yeah JDM cars in Japan are not as heavily regulated. I beleieve the 8th Gen FD2 Type R Civic in Japan comes with HIDs from factory, but don't even have projectors

@AusAccod,

can you take a snap for me on the location where you hide the ballast?do you have the LED for your plate?Have you got the picture of it?where are you buying it from?Is it the same ebay seller from @Rage King

not an easy snap as front bumper needs off. just take your bumper off then you will see space underneath headlights.
yes SMD for my plate but difficult no snap again, sorry. bought from ebay but not same seller. check this thread again as i recommend the style of SMD for plate.

Which cars on OZ have HID's with no washers?

i could name a few from their AUDM specifications from their websites which do not mention Headlight washers or cant even see it in their pics and in person.

Audi A4 - most of A series.
• Xenon Plus headlights with LED daytime driving lights
http://www.audi.com.au/etc/medialib/ngw/au.Par.0010.File.pdf

Mercedes-Benz - some of the C class etc
- has xenon, auto adjust height but doesnt say auto washers.

Mazda 3 MPS
- Headlamps (Bi-Xenon) with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS)
but doesnt mention auto washers

there could be others but who knows.. LOL..

Hi guys. Sorry been real busy with work lately.

Not much update besides installing the philips H11 35w 6k hid for my low beams and H11 55w 6k for my foggies.

Works like a charm and the beams are perfect!

The interior SMd kit i got came with: front , centre, rear roof lights, all 4 doors lights for the interior - 9 bulbs in total.

Then i bought parkers, number plates and cargo boot light seperately as i wanted them brighter and more smds.

Ill check my ebay history and post the link here.

wow... been a while since i logged on...been busy with work ...

question.

will the wheel spec below fit the 05 ODC?

Front: 18x9 +32
Rear: 18x10 +37

obviously ill need adj camber arms.. and guards roll... but my main concern is how much will it stick out or will it sit flushed?

ill be using staggered tyres... what is recommended with this setup?

have searched in OH but they are all referring to 19/20inch rims with higher ET.

AusAccord
16-01-2013, 06:49 PM
based on stock rim 6.5" wide with offset +55mm

front: inner clearance 9mm less (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing) and outer position extend an extra 55mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)
rear: inner clearance 26mm less and outer position extend an extra 62mm

good luck and have fun with camber plus guards rolling

With the right camber adjustment + lowering and guard rolling you will be able to have clearance with no issues at all. Mine is about 5mm from touching the guards

What was your setup size again??

Size?
ET?
How low if your ride?

Im stuck trying to figure put the best ET and width without going overboard..

So im looking around 19x8 or 8.5 all round..

What would be the ideal ET ?? Not worried bout guard rolling or flaring.. But i would like a nice dish look...

Thanks

Trust me.. they're not too big at all (and not bcos i want to sell them) i would still recommend 20 for this car any day as its the best fit in my opinion :) the sizing i have is not aggressive at all and was ordered for daily driving with full load :) prams, car seats etc.. etc..

I hope you know what are doing mate, I am no expert, but there are differences that I do know off. The transmission tunnel for the RB2 Absolute is wider than our model to accomodate the larger exhaust piping and the 4wd gear. Also the exhaust system on the RB2 has a different layout. Not sure how you are going to fit all that in, I suggest ditching the 4wd system.

Other things to note:
Absolute Air box and the intake pipes are larger on the Absolute, you will need that.
Absolute Exhaust system is larger (headers and cat back), you might want to get that as well.
The ECU loom is different to handle the difference between drive by wire and drive by cable

thanks Evo ..

yes i have thought about all that,

not too worried by wiring loom as i can do all these (swap them around or make a DIY harness)
as for the intake, exhaust everything will be custom made - still trying to maintain a legal look but a better feel.

with regards to the 4WD system, i am still under research on what other gbox may fit/can be adapted to this engine. I.e. CRV, Accord Euro R etc.

if all doesnt work out - i might ditch the absolute motor and might just use a accord euro k24 (leaving it fwd) swap incl. wiring loom - so i can utilize a hondata. and change to a 50deg VTC or do a frank swap to K20/24.

lucky i havent made any payments as yet, still doing alot of research and i believe some ODC owners from malaysia/sgp has done the absolute conversions...

taking it nice and slow.

but for now im trying to still source out the best wheel offset fitment for a F = 18x8 ET?? | R = 18x9 ET?? (i want a nice dish staggered look but no stupid aggressive R cambers) LOL.
