Hi All,

Just took delivery of a 2012 Honda Odyssey Lux. Polished Metal, 15% Tints, Front and Rear Park Assist, Schneider Headrest DVD System. Honda Plus Warranty and Mats.

Quite a change from my 2011 Range Rover Sport, but needed something more practical for a while.

Still running the car in at the moment but pretty happy with the car overall. The child anchor points are a bit annoying but otherwise a great vehicle and perfect alternative to SUVs.

I did have a question, in the handbook it says the car can be programmed to auto lock and unlock, by doing a series of things with the key and transmission shifter, but darned if I can get it to work for me. Can anyone advise whether they have done this successfully, and any issues they had?

Anyway hope to get some valuable information over time from here, and hope someone can assist with the above.

Not everything in the manual applies to your car.

Could be wrong, but I highly doubt the Australian delivered RB3's would have the auto lock/unlock feature.

I think that must be the case then, as I followed the instructions to the letter to do it, to no avail. Oh well no big deal I suppose

Jon, if you read the manual closely, not all features apply to all market. our ODC doesn't have auto lock etc. also we don't have ISOFIX.

Congrats John.

I took delivery of my silver Ody Luxury on 20 July. Nearly done 1000 kms.

Coming from a Kluger, I must say the Odyssey is a nice car and a good change from the Kluger which rolls about a fair bit. Doing the windows this Wednesday. Going for the 3M Crystalline film. :D

Still evaluating if I want to put in headrest or roof top DVD player or just give the kids ipad to muck around...

At this stage the consumption is around 10.5L/100 average with about 50% freeway use. What's people on this forum getting?

I opted for the roof mount controlled by the front HU because the kids were too young to operate any portable devices.

Its normal that kids in the generations of today and future are evolving / adapting into these technologies at the early ages.

My daughter, loves the ipad and go onto my laptop/desktop and watches youtube, searches nickjr on the web and plays games.. She started around 18-20mnths but it also helps when they have older siblings as they copy and pick these up from them..
