View Full Version : Recommendations for good street tyres needed for my EG sedan...
Hey,
Has anyone got and recommendations for a good set of street tyres (205/45/16)?
Good performance but afforable, they will be for street driving only but good grip for a mountain run once in a blue moon would be nice.
They'll never see a track, I've got DZ03Gs for that :-)
Thanks!

Roadstone N5000, I did 4 motorkhana in them all on road with handbreaks and hard breaking, with more than 20,000kms on them, they were bloody cheap, not the grippyest but they were great haha

Lollllllllll roadstone are shit! May as well buy nankang or BCT..
I'd go either kumho ku36 or toyo r1r
Or cheaper quality option.
Kumho ku31 toyo t1 sport or potenza re002

KU31 is my recommendation for what you seek. Cheap and good grip. Also has good tread wear. I'm using them on my daily and I'm very happy.
Toyo R1R is not cheap and has a bad wear rating. It's a superior tyre to the KU31 but I wouldn't recommend it on what you've said you want. I'm using them on my weekend car.

Just sayying haha, I know they are hard conpund tyres but I used it for motorkhanas (with a bit of tyre smoke, and handbreaks) and everywhere on dirt and road and it lasted very long and hell cheap, longer than my old yokohama tyres which were soft compound and i have more grip but oh well haha

road stones? srsly? facepalm.jpg
I agree with most of the other guys, Kumho KU31's are a great daily tyre, Ive found that they are a tad unpredictable when you push them to their limit but they are quite grippy for what they are and wear quite nicely even with a slightly aggressive alignment. :)
Im gonna give RE002's a go once these wear out ive heard nothing but good things (cant say the same about re001's)
