Hey guys where can i get a good ethrottle for a decent price + does it need tuning?
also does using an ethrottle decrease fuel effiecency and if so by how much and is it noticeable?

Most of them have 3 modes and several levels of each mode.

Mine's got

Eco1,2,3,4,5
Norm
Sprt1,2,3,4,5,6,7

I leave mine on Eco 2. :)

Obviously Eco is meant to retard you throttle, and save you fuel. With Sprt doing the opposite

I'm interested in these as well. I have found one on ebay, called a Shadow e drive. It is $120.
I own an r18, I realise that it will not make more power but hopefully will provide more fun and make the car more responsive in a real world situation.
I would like to hear from someone whos tried this device.

i hear it's a world of difference, it'll allow you to stop granny shfiting and start double clutching like you should

lol

but yes response is a wonderful thing, i can't stand this eco drive by wire for that exact reason.

i have the shadow e-throttle. i never use it anymore lol cos i cant be bothered changing it every time i drive off..... but when i do use it (for either eco or sport mode) it is quite effective. and for how much u pay..... its a must-do lol.

Thanks Curtis I do find double shuffling a hit or miss affair.
Black8thgen, do you have to set the controller everytime you start.
That would drive me mad.

yeah you do, it does it for 'safety' reasons. and at first it was okay i was like hey this is fun setting my throttle. but give it a couple weeks u start to get lazy and only really set it when u really need it lol.

i think the pivot one might keep its setting? as duffy. I know my mate had the old shadow e-throttle version and his one retained the last setting but yeah my one doesnt

Davek the alternative is D1 Spec 7-drive, cost about 140 delivered from Ebay
works great, and no "safety reason" bs, same setting everytime u start your car
its great!

I have the same. Shadow is the ripoff of Pivot afaik. Mine was resetting each time the car was turned off, it turned out to be a loose wire.

So shadow saves the settings Duffy? Does it void insurance or cause anything with it?

oh.. maybe i have a loose wire too LOL... i need to fix my engine start button as well think a cable got loose over the years

well in all honesty, aftermarket rims/suspension can void ur insurance. if insurance want to, they can say this and that voided it, so i doubt one little thing (which u can rip out in 2 seconds anyway) will be any more of an issue than ur standard mods

Yeah it saves the settings. And shouldn't void warranty. I mean its a plug in thing. If u need to claim just unplug it

Just got my E Throttle yesterday. Will do a review in the DIY section.
