The welds on the nut behind the red circled area have broken.
I managed to tighten down the bolt and nut but should I have it rewelded?

Grab a suitable nut - a nyloc if you can and use that. Make sure you tighten it while static ( suspension compressed/on ground) .

Or get it welded back on
