Hey guys,

i got an ED6 civic and recently the fans have stopped working. They dont turn on when heated up.

Can someone help me out? what are some things i should be looking at? also, the power steering fluid is bubbling/ boiling. is it overheating?

cheers!

find the thermofan temp switch on the thermostat housing and bridge the two pins on the connector, if the fans spin then your problem is the temp switch, remove it and test it in boiling water, of it does not short when the water boils, replace it.

(if applicable to the ED6)

try shorting the thermoswitch (2 wired plug on the side of the thermostat housing) and see if they turn on. If so , then you have maybe a bad thermoswitch or connection elsewhere

what do you guys mean by bridge and short?

you mean just get some spare wire and connect the two pins and see if it turns on the fans?

yes bridge means connect the two pins in the connector. Short is another word for it. however my meaning of short is when the sensor does it to its pins when you boil it. Use a multimeter to check the sensor.
