Hi guys, am overseas at the moment and gave my car to my dad to drive once a week for maintenance. Long story short he put the wrong key in the ignition and now it's jammed in there and can't come how. Just wondering what's the best course of action to fix this? New barrel? Funnily enough the car still starts with the wrong key (Honda hrv). But yeah it's stuck in there pretty good apparently.

depends if the tumblers actually fukd or not. you might be able to extract the key out and if tumblers still works fine then all good
if you cant even extract the key, then new barrel would be the easiest alternative

Nah not snapped at all, just stuck in there. I heard graphite powder or something is good with locks, know anything about that?

a HRV should not start with the wrong key as it has an immobiliser system that needs to read the transponder in the key.

he may of used another key for the car

The graphite powder would only help to ge the key in the lock, or help sticky keys become smooth...think your only course of action is a crap load of WD-40 and pliers/multigrips, good luck!
