Hey im looking into putting bigger discs all round on my EG hatch.
I have the GLI shell atm, which has a b16a in it so i cant help but think i might need them.

I have found a person who had a EG8 Vti and wrote it off and is parting. looking to buy the bits i need off him, will the trailing arm from the rear fit?
and what will i need to do the front? is it pretty much the same?

Hey, i just converted my eg rear drums to dc2 discs and everything was pretty much bolt on except with the handbrake cables (bolts holding the cables didn't line up). I assume the eg8 trailing arms would fit but your best chance is to get a dc2 because they are 100% interchangeable! With the front's i just left it because the joints on the dc2 needed replacing (check all joints are fine before you buy them because they tend to rip and you will need to replace them) but i'm sure it's just a matter of removing all the bolts that are connected to the hub/spindles and just replace the complete arms. Also get a 40/40 prop valve (non abs) to balance out the fluid distributions.

you can grab the prop valve from any eg/dc with 4 wheel disc brake

I do not think that eg come with abs at all. Eg rear brakes is straight swap.
get Brakebooster prop valve ...

if you want i have one from an integra, non abs model. it replaces the stock one (located on the firewall connected to all the brake lines).

try look around for it because i ordered one from ebay for $70 then went to wreckers one day and i was lucky enough to find one that was non abs. the difference is that non abs has 6 lines coming out, while the abs one has only 4 lines out. So yeah if you're keen and don't mind waiting few days let me know!

we will see. but i still have no idea what this part is.
also will i need a new brake master and bmc?

It's a good idea to upgrade them because it's what gives you more pressure to pump the fluids. (i'd do it just so i wouldn't have to do it later which means you got to rip it out, bleed the brakes etc..)

just search "40 40 prop valve" and you can read what it does etc...

so does that mean i should get the brake booster and bmc off the eg8 aswell, or will my eg4 one suffice if i use the propvalve from the eg8

I'm not sure about the size eg8s come in but im sure you can get an integra one. Upgrading it will improve your braking because it is bigger.

allright, i was thinking of just grabbing all the eg8 arms and the braking stuff, bmc booster and valve.

allright, i was thinking of just grabbing all the eg8 arms and the braking stuff, bmc booster and valve.

i dont think u should.

correct me if im wrong.
eg5, eg8, eg4 front brake rotors are 242mm
eg5, eg6 - rear brakes are rotors 240mm
eg4 and eg8 - rears brakes are drums
eg5 and eg6 - rear sway bar
eg4, eg8 - no rear sway bar
i think the master cycl is the same
i do know that eg5 comes with a 30/40 prop valve.

if thats the case. why not upgrade to dc4 or dc2 brakes.
40/40 prop valve comes from tegs. compare teg to eg5 front rotors are bigger.

hmm i see, however this eg8 has rear disc not drums.
dc2 brakes arent as easy to find is all.

Any disc brake rear end from any civic or integra will fit anything else.

The best way to do it is to grab the complete trailing arm with disc/hub on it already, the calipers, and the handbrake cables, then the 40/40 proportioning valve. The reason you need this is because drum brakes require more pressure than discs to work efficiently, so if you use the drum prop valve on teh disc rears, youll be locking the rear brakes up all the time, which you obviously dont want.

You dont need to change the booster or mast cylinder.

From DA teg all the way to DC, and EF/ED civic all the way to EK are interchangable.

ahh thanks trism, life saver. so i should be good with prop valve and rear trailing ams (with Disc n hub) + cables.
and is it true the eg6 has same size front brakes as the eg4?
