Just bought a 1992 EG and the fuel gauge is stuck past the full mark.
How do you test if it's the gauge, wiring or the fuel sender?
I know on other cars you unplug the loom and can jump certain pins and the gauge would go full or empty.
Thanks in advance

Did the test and it's reading 12.x volts
I physically moved the fuel gauge needle to empty and as soon as I put the ignition to ON it goes up to past full and stays there.

The most common cause of fuel gauge trouble is a poor ground especially at the tank sender. Make sure all wiring connections are tight, and free of dirt and corrosion. A poor ground or loose connection to a fuel gauge system is just like loose or dirty battery cables to your starting system.
If dash gauge reads, FULL when tank is known to be only half full the wiring between the tank or the sender is bad. Ground the gas tank sender terminal using a jumper wire, if the dash gauge still shows full there is bad wiring between the dash gauge and the tank sender. If the dash gauge goes to empty, the gas tank sender is defective

Tested the earth wire Black with white trace From the senders connector and its got good earth and continuity.
If I switch the ignition off the fuel needle stays past full doesn't move.
Replaced the sender and still same issue.
Went to the wreckers but they only had one cluster and the fuel gauge was sitting half full. It should be on empty right if it's working fine?
I tested it anyway and did the same thing went past full and stayed there.
