Info on EG VEi

Hey.

I've done a search, and only minor power output specs did I manage to find. (Yoda style :p)

What I would like to know is are there any other differences compared to say a GLi, in terms of options and what not.

I'm pretty clear on power output already I guess, from my search. A measly 66 kW :cool:

What about the brakes? Discs all round?
Engine code? D15Y(?) or D15B(?) or D15(??) ?

Any more info or help will be greatly appreciated.

Jimmy its a D15Z1 engine.

Im pretty sure its just a GLi with a different engine, hence the VEI badging.
Cannot say for sure, but pretty damn sure it doesn't have rear discs. Fronts disc, rear drums.

I had a look at one ages ago and it had airbags (driver) I think but no sunroof (which the Vti has).

Its a SOHC Vtec engine made for economy (different engine to the gli) but similar to the vti. Main difference is that for the low cam, one of the intake valves only just lifts off its seat (while the other lits fully) to promote swirl (and stop fuel collecting on the valve). Its basically an economy engine.

They are quite rare :)

I understand it's got all power options too ie. power steering, windows, mirrors.

Wonder if there are any interior differences. Any idea?

It sure as hell is economical, bloody 30 kW difference compared to an Si or VTi. 0.0

Can't remember Jimmy........I only looked at one. It may not have cupholders.....but def didn't have sunroof

Yer. I know VEi's don't come with sunroof too.

Only EG that comes with sunroof standard is the VTi. Correct?

i test drove a vei about two years ago and it had a sunroof, thinking back it had pretty much everything the vti has except the engine.
