Hey guys.

so my 99 civic just threw all its tranny fluid the other day.

topped it up and bled it. clutch still is not engaging.

when i was bleeding and the nipple was closed, as i pumped the clutch pedal i noticed bubbles in the master clutch cylinder.

u guys recon my slave or master cylinder needs replacing. i have a spare master cylinder from an integra.. cant seem to find any leaks in the clutch line itself..

.. any ideas guys??

thanks in advance

seems u still have air in clutch system. or seals seems bad. If you got another one, you can replace it and test it.

try bleeding like this -

open slave cylinder nipple - place a tube/hose from the nipple to a bottle half filled with fresh DOT3/4 brake fluid - make sure the tube is tight on the nipple and CLEAR or translucent , and the end of the tube sits BELOW the fluid level
Suck fluid from fluid reservoir with a syringe or similar - then top up with fresh fluid.
Begin pumping the clutch pedal by hand - dont forget to top up the fluid reservoir ! Keep pumping and put through a good 4-500mls thru it. Once you are sure there is no more air bubbles and constant fresh fluid - pump the pedal one last time and hold it to the floor. tighten the nipple - top up reservoir and you are done.

Is the master cylinder leaking at all?
What bleeding method have you been using?
Can you feel pressure when you depress the pedal?
Once you've exhausted your options, pull out the master cylinder. Block off both inputs to the cylinder with your fingers and depress the pushrod. If you feel a good amount of pressure and don't hear/feel any leaks, the master cylinder should be good.
Also feel the release cylinder boot for movement when depressing the clutch pedal.

So my clutch broke and jumped into the pressure plate...
