hi:wave:

I was just driving back from work today realising that the gears where hard to select but epecially putting into first and back into netural when im in traffic and even when i drive it crunches second only aswell but what i cant understand that i have replaced my master cylinder and change the gearboxs oil to mtf but didnt replace the slave cylinder is this whats maybe causing the problem? should i bleed it and would that help not sure what to do

i can put it into gears fine when the car is swtich off clutch in and it will go into gears fine but is weird im thinking im mite have to change the clutch it has 178,000 kms on it and not sure if the clutch has been change since its came from factory.

if anyone has had problems like this please let me know on how u fixed it

thanks:D

Don't think it's the clutch my friend. I'll be lead to accuse the synchros in the gearbox.

yeh but today my pedal started feeling weird and i checked if it was leaking and it had a little leak on the rubber and i just changed the master cylinder 10,000km ago?

would it be anything else causing this problem?

are you losing clutch fluid?

when you replaced the master cylinder did you thoroughly bleed the system?

maybe remove the rubber boot over the slave cylinder and get someone to press the clutch in while you watch the slave push the fork and see if it goes all the way and stays while the pedal is held down.

how much MTF did you use?

If it's hard to select gears could be input shaft bearing? But most likely synchros. Not speaking from experience just tossing options

A failing clutch pressure plate or disc can make it hard to select gears - ditto with the master or slave cylinder

If the pedal feels suddenly funny I'd go with the pressure plate or disc failing.

Consider replacing the master cylinder if it's leaking - and if that doesn't fix it then look at a new clutch kit

Pm me if you need labour help !

yeh i tested my slave to see if it was engaging onto fork and it was fine

so it wasnt the slave cylinder i reckon its the pressure plate thats stuffted

but im have adjusted the pedal free play and before i adjusted it had way to much freeplay and it didnt have alot for bite so

so now it feels drivable now haha
