my speedos been pretty innacurate for a while, so i bought one of them VSS things off ebay on a whim, anyways installed it, and its still dodgy. actually now the speed doesnt decreese properly as i slow down, it kind of slows down slower then gets to 20 and drops straight to 0 from there. sometimes ill be at a stop and it will read 20 then drop to 0 instantly.

but that aside, i know that the person that did the engine swap screwed up some wires so i thought i better check make sure its wired properly.

so first question is,
where do the 3 wires leaving the VSS plug go to?

second
does the speedo get its speed from the ECU or the VSS directly.

Third
the engine seems to be from an EF civic or some other obd0 b16 car would this be not compatable with the standard EG cluster.

fourth.
What do you think the problem is?

and if anyone knows why the speed dropping is innacurate please share

your problem could be in the cluster

check your VSS

ok, i unplugged the VSS plug, and checked the voltaged, i get a 12.5ish, and a 4.6-7ish from the correct wires.
i couldnt do it whilst its connected since the rear of the plug is sealed with a grommet so i cant probe there.

i havent got a VSS code on the ECU though, but ill try this tonight see how i go. is it ok to do the voltage tests with the device disconnected?
