Hey guys,

I have done a led conversion in my climate control but the led lights won't stay in. Eventually they fall out cuz of bumps in the road. I have screwed them in properly and they are the correct base size as original lights. Any suggestions on how to keep them in with out wrecking the main board?

take a pic, that will make it a lot easier to see the problem and recommend a solution.

if you bend the contacts in the bulb holder it will clamp the bulb harder and help keep inplace or you could hot glue gun the bulbs in place.

wrap a layer of elecy tape around the centre shaft to act as a shim for the tabs

or

hot glue the back of the holder to the pcb

or

add something under the contact wires to apply more pressure to the pcb, IE add some small pieces of tape under the contact wire to shim it out or wind an old resistor/led leg onto the contact wire to add pressure.

Looks pretty even which is good, often in conversions you get hotspots.

did you change any of the active lights or the digital display colour?

Thats why i chose the SMD Led, gave the most light and had the best spread. havent had a chance to see how the display works, im thinking it works like the clock in the preludes (Orange film over the display) and still getting to the active lights but if its to much work might give them a miss

yeah the display should be green or white with an orange filter on it, you add cellophane to alter the colour. Active lights are pretty easy, either solder new leds onto the pcb if they are pcb mounted or something like this if they are neo wedge(T3)
