approximate cost of an auto to manual conversion, worth it?

hey guys, i have an auto dc5 luxury, i was originally planning to buy a type r or s, but im come to love my own car and what iv done to it, so im contemplating a auto to manual conversion and i have the following questions :

How much would this usually cost?
Positives and negatives?
Considering i havent got vtec, is there any way i can get it after my car is manual?

Sell the car to somebody who will enjoy it as it is. Buy a manual with VTEC.
