Has anyone else with an Accord V6 Luxury, 2009 model, had the engine management light come on, car runs very roughly, and Honda end up changing all piston rings? I'd done aprox. 34,000 k's. Apparently one of the spark plugs was oiled up, and Honda have recommended all rings be replaced. Glad I got the extended warranty.
Since the replacement, engine sometimes mildly stutters on low engine revs under load, just before dropping down a gear, and idles a little roughly until warm, esp. on cold days.
Honda unable to find anything, and are telling me on one hand they have extensively tested everything (had the car for 2 days) but on the other hand, other cars of same vintage also have the rough idling.
Honda also state that the ring problem has occurred to other cars with the V6 engine. So I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had this problem?

Replacing rings after 3 years... Sweet Jesus
Did you run the car in when you first bought it?
When was the last service? Was it Minor or Major?
Apparently it is common in the US

Yes, run in from new, regularly serviced including intermediate services as I don't do a huge number of kms per year.
Thanks for the link, interesting indeed.

Hmm, more interesting/alarming, reading.
My transmission has been noisy since day 1, but Honda keep saying it's normal for that transmission/they all do it etc.
Now my engine isn't running well...
I don't think I'll get much joy through Honda, so I think it's time to get rid of it, and never go near another Honda dealership ever again.

Fix your v6
Trade in for Euro
Service car yourself or at a reputable Honda Mechanic
Current V6 accords have been known to burn lots of oil and have had issues.
Had a mate who works at Honda advise they've replaced 2-3 engines alone in the past few years.
I would get it checked throughly to avoid engine failure after warranty.
