What u think of this CAI idea?

noticing the small peice of agpipe i have coming out of my front bar, ive been thinking about this new Cool air intake idea. using the factory airbox, i wanna take it apart using the 'top side' of the airbox (where the panel sits) and mounting it behind the factory grill in front of the radiator. off the end of this is about a 3" precut hole which i can run piping straight up onto my pod filter. i worked out it'll be about 10 times the surface area of my current pipe, which i thought could maybe work a fair bit better. does anyone actually think this could work or would i juz be wasting my time :confused:

would it be like.. "widening the mouth" of hte agpipe that leads to the air filteR? like this ??i drew a little diagram. lol. hoope it helps

LOL glad u went to so much effort for me mate. but yea u grasped the concept of it well, basically like a shitload more surface area so heaps more air can be hitting the pod. dunno if i'll try it yet, i took the frontbar off this arvo and it doesnt look too hard..

from zco's drawings. i dont think it will make much of a difference since only the opening is widened. but would like to see sum real pics to get a better idea.

i reckon it'll work. air will go in alot more..
just make sure the angle between the mouth of hte piping and the lid of the airbox is not 180. it'll look like a " T " what you want is a " Y "

You are not going to feel a difference in this..

Power = Colder Intake Air and it's Velocity(Well, for a VTEC engine that is)

adding that "air scoop" will probably not help much. your engine is still going to be using the same amount of air with or without the scoop there. The gain u recieve from CAI intake is the cold air, not the "ram" air effect.
