hi guys, i want to install the accord euro luxury (stock xenon/hid) headlights into a base model. i've been told and figured that the low beam connector is different (correct me if im wrong) as shown in the following pictures.

Here is the stock xenon/hid headlight with the oem ballast which is where the low beam connector goes into?

Here is the base model headlight and circled in red is where the low beam connector goes into?

Does anyone have any input into what i need to do in order for me to install it? Can i just buy some sort of plug and play wire harness to convert the base model connector into the connector needed to fit into the ballast? Any help appreciated. cheers

would something like this be ok?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380220387092?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3999wt_1026
thinking of plugging this^ into the ballast then splicing it onto my existing low beam connector.
anyone?

i havent received the headlights yet so i cant try it yet. just trying to get some feeback before i attempt the conversion.
in my mind it should work if i just splice on the low beam connector from the luxury cl9 into the base model but i just want to see if anyone could confirm it. probabaly best to ask an electrician

Yeah i know what you're talking about. But im not sure whether the low beam connection from the base model fits into the ballasts? Is it the same plug?

^ similar situation here, might just have to splice if its not direct plug and play.

i would suggest direct plug and play,i have some bad experience before. So can we use that wire you found in ebay?

I'm pretty sure this part (http://tinypic.com/r/2ugpi4o/6) of the plug fits into the ballast of the HID headlight but i don't know about the other side that's why im thinking you have to splice it on.

I just quickly took a picture of the connection that goes into the low beam of the base model euro, http://tinypic.com/r/25u659d/6

Im assuming if we splice on this head,
http://tinypic.com/r/2ugpi4o/6
onto this connector,
http://tinypic.com/r/25u659d/6
then it should work?

Unless of course the connections are both the same then no splicing is needed.

Hi There, not sure if im barking up the wrong tree, but i was under the impression that HIDs are only legal when fitted with height adjusters which you wont have on a base model.Correct me if im wrong.......

haha yes that is correct^

@herbert - probably in 2weeks? so still a while.

has to have auto adjusters i believe

cant we adjust the height manually ?

jordiiisme

yeah we can. but i think technically its not legal to have hid if you don't have auto adjustment.

another problem is the base model using H1 while OEM HID is D2R/D2S

the OEM HID uses D2S and i don't think the bulb will be a problem if you have the whole hid headlight assembly with the ballasts etc.

to be legal / roadworthy = auto leveling with axle sensors at front left and rear left + headlight washer system (although i hate this, at night i often stop, switch the light off then pull the windscreen washer to clean. with the low beam on, both windscreen and headlight washers will squirt the liquid).

I have whole set oem d2r hid kit.when I asked the mechanic to install the kit yesterday, he said my headlight is H1 bulb.so what can I do now?

or replace the whole low beam projector into D2S ?someone selling it ebay, but it is not cheap

if you have the base model headlight then yes you need a H1 HID KIT if you want to have HID's or you can also just get a white H1 bulb (like Phillip Crystal Vision) and install that.

Hey guys. Sorry to dig up an old thread,
But has anyone succeeded in putting lux headlights with the factory HID into a base model euro??

I know it's not legal but I'm looking to do a hid conversion,
But Phillips diamond bulbs will be my second option if hids become too hard to do.
