hey had my ep3 r for a month now. having to hold down the clutch to start the car is getting a little annoying. is it necessary? if not does anyone know how to get this removed?

it's a safety features, and like all safety features it can be a little troublesome

if you bash your ca r's front end into an object because you disable it, you're ruining your chances of getting an insurance payout

anyway you need to go under and fool the switch into thinking the clutch is depressed. It might muck around with cruise control (if the ep3 has it..)

try this http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/electrical/160028-diy-jumper-your-clutch.html

There is a clutch switch

Just short the loom side with a wire or paper clip to bypass.

I took the actual clip off with sensor - and soldered the wire to short. Clean and won't fall out !
