OBDII engine in OBD1 Car, go obd1 or 2?

im doing b18c conversion to my eg civic vti
so far i have got a obd2a b18c package with obd2 distributor,obd2 p72 ecu, obd2 loom (not sure if its completed) etc....

i have purchased a set of obd1 to obd2a jumper harness to use my stock obd1 loom...however,i guess the obd1 loom might not be able to plug into the dizzy...and i dont think i have the secondary o2 sensor (using stock cat from eg)

The engine and everything is inside the car but havent done anything on ecu and wires yet...just want some advices on should i go obd1 or obd2....which way would go easier consider i hv the obd2 ecu and dizzy and other sensors?

you already bought the conversion harness, so why do you want to use obd1 ecu?
you already have obd2 ecu and harness so just use that

cuz i don't have the 2nd o2 sensor come with the package and I dunno how to disable it in the ECU
with OBD1 ECU it might seem to need less sensors than what required on obd2?
plus my obd1 loom doesnt seem like could plug into the obd2 dizzy

I know some re-wire can solve the problem of dizzy, but not quite sure how to disable the 2nd o2 and don't know if there are any other plugs that not gotta fit?

you dont need to rewire dizzy, you said you got the obd2a engine loom.
it plugs fine in the engine bay.

all you need was the conversion harness which you already bought.

oh really?mine is a b18c2 and i found a lot of post on google saying cel code might come up without 2nd o2(not for jdm or itr ecu as they dun need the 2nd o2,the gsr does)...perhaps all i found were more relevant to american spec...

so u running p73 or p72?

IF you have the Type R engine P72 is the wrong ECU. If you have the VTiR Then the P72 is the ECU you need.

If your ECU is AUDM then there will not be a secondary O2 (S02). Most JDM ECU's I have seen did not have SO2 either.

so knock sensor and IAB will be what i need to connect then as i already have vtec?

might need to wire primaru o2 sensor.
my vti use 4 wire o2 sensor but an audm vti might use 1 wire o2 sensor

if you have a VTi Civil then all you should have to wire is the KS and IAB

VTP, VTS, PO2H should already be present however you wont need to use VTP. worse case you have to wire PO2H as well

is it going to make it easier actually if i have a obd1 ecu as my car and some components are originally obd1?

like less plugs gotta be changed on the stock loom?

i wil be able to get a obd1 ecu for cheap if it wil turn easier

if you have an OBDIIa Engine harness with an OBDIIa Engine its a straight plug in in the engine bay. wheather you go OBDI or OBDIIa ECU you still have to run the wires required. OBDI ECU gives you flexability to tune

I can supply you with a OBDI ECU if your looking for one.
