Hi all,

Looking a replacing the OEM tyres which I got 40k out of (apparently another 5k left in them). While I am at it, thought I would replace the wheels as well.

This is the tyre/wheel combo I am looking at, I have three questions:

1) Will it fit
2) Will it rub
3) Have I chosen the correct tire size for the wheel

Wheel
18x7.5
Offset 48mm
5 studs, 114mm PCD (5-114 bolt pattern)
Backspacing: 6.18"

Tyre
235/45 R18

All help is muchly appreciated

Wheel
18x7.5 stock is 8" wide, not recommended to go narrower
Offset 48mm stock is 55, but this is ok
5 studs, 114mm PCD (5-114 bolt pattern) ok
Backspacing: 6.18"

Tyre
235/45 R18 make sure weight load rating is 98

Thanks for the reply natnat, appreciate it.

Out of curiosity I was looking at 19" wheels (19"x8.0). Given that I currently run 225/50 R17 what is the tyre size that is recommended for 19? I am not too sure on the width to go for

Would a 18x9.5 with a +20 offset fit??

If not, the would 18x8.5 +35??

19x8 will fit fine. As for the tyre sizes, depends on if you plan to lower your car, if so on what etc. If you don't plan to lower your car at all, I'd probably do 225/40/19 or 235/40/19? It won't be stretched at all/much. I'm currently running 19x8.5 +29 on 225/40/19 and the stretch is very minimal - I don't like really thin tyres.

Also, if you don't want to run staggered wheels, you can run 19x8.5 +whatever offset (depending on what's available for your wheels) all round so you can rotate and swap the wheels around etc. Otherwise, 8" wide all round is fine.

18x9.5 +20 would require quite a bit of work on the front to fit, not to mention camber and stretch tyres.

Like I said above, if you don't want to run a staggered set up, go with the 18x8.5 +35 all round. Otherwise, you can fit the 18x8.5 +35 in the fronts and 18x9.5 +20 in the rears. But note, if you're going to lower your car, you may need to roll your guards depending on how low you go and what tyre size you choose. Though, you may be poking if you don't lower the car with those specs. I can't remember exactly how my wheels fit when the car wasn't lowered because it's been a while + my guards are rolled + I lowered my car before I bought wheels.

Hope I didn't cause too much confusion.

If you go 19" correct tyre should be 235 35 19 depending on width of rim as this will keep you speedo as close as possible to stock

Hey guys would 19x8.5 + 42 fit on a CU2 ??
That should be fine as the width is only half inches wider and also the offset is not too aggressive so minimal work can be done to fit them. Done even need guard rolling!!

cheers

That would require a bit more work since the cl9 doesnt have the big arches as the cu2 does but it should be fine the car is not lowered too much, if you want to go lower might need guard rolling and stuff..

hopes this helps!!

Depends on what kind of look you want, like for example concave or not,

Also some people run with spacers is because of the design of the wheel where the spokes dont clear the calipers, but with the look of these wheels it should be fine.

Also what kind of width of the rim are you going for?, cos this will decide what tyre suits it best

Hope this helps!

Ok, so I guess my question is also about wheels for CU2, since the rears are quite IN, will I need to look for staggered wheels to keep that Flush look? or should I run spaces because then I can interchange the wheels for wheel rotation? This stuff is doing my head in... When I think about my car, my workplace productivity drops below ZERO :S

Hahahah same here when thinking of what wheels to put on the cu2 lol..

umm First of all anything above 35 offset would would be no probs for the rear, will fit tight and sit quite flush with guard.

Also as said above if the wheels are no lower than +35 it should fit all of the wheels with minimal work for the front, probably a camber kit and not sure if need guard rolling.. dont think so

Hope this helps!!

Yepppp im using this configuration atm as long as you change all four tyres or it will change your fuel economy due to the slightest difference in wheel height.

Im currently using bridgestone potenza re002

Im gonna change the tyres for my cl9 .. replace the current tyres on the cu2 wheels .. change fuel eco? In a good way or bad?

Just curious to know if the following rim width and offset would fit 18x9, with offset of 40

Well for a fact i know 18X9 et+ 35 fits on the cu2 but it also depends on the wheel design, but based on the specs it should be fine with brake clearance.

Hope this helps!

Hey
i have no idea about wheels
so just wondering if 18x9 +28 at the front and 18x10 +18 at the back would go on a CU2 easy?
if not what would be required?

Hey guys, would

Diameter / Width / Offset: 19 x 8.5 + 28 / 19 x 9.5 + 30 fit on my car? I am lowered on tein coilovers. I will roll the rear guards. Do I need camber arms?

You'll probably need them for the front.

Hope this helps

No it wouldn't be easy since stock wheels have 55+ offset and u have at least 2 inches sticking out for both front and rear wheels so need roll guards especially the back, camber arms as well as being lowered.
Hope this helps

The fronts are already rolled from factory. That should be ok I hope?

Hey,

Looking at 20's now finding it hard to find 19's that I like. What I'm needing to know which offset will fit better (offered offset from and to are +15 to +47), I don't want to roll guards at all I am thinking of lowering it but not sure of height something like 1.20front and 0.8 in the rear the rims are a koya Sf04 it's a 8.5 wide rim, they offer custom offsets. I don't want the fronts to poke out all happy to have it flush and a little tuck in the rear.

Thanks in advance
