If you're not too attached to your vti coupe right now,
I'd recommend you sell it and buy a VTI-R..
Stock is always going to better than a conversion..
You won't need to worry about whether you're conversion will have problems, etc.
Plus you'll be able to test drive the car/engine before you buy it, unlike purchasing an engine from overseas not knowing of it's history

It may not be the cheapest option, but it'll definitely be the most efficient.. It'll save you alot of worries down the track..

If you still want to do the conversion, I'd recommend converting it with another engine, rather than something everyone else has, or something you can buy stock.. just my 2c

very good point i am leaning towards swapping a b18c from an integra
just got off the phone and they're offering it for $2200
it's auto and as far as i know the only thing different is milder cams
can you see any real problems with this swap at all?
Is it possible to use my vti gearbox or is that asking for trouble?

b18c's came in auto ? That's nothing but news to me..
I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use your gearbox.. as the vti is a d series, and b series engines are only compatible with b series gearboxes ? (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

BTW, where are you getting it from ?
If it's jap, I'm not sure, but I think you'll have to change the gearbox for sure..
As for me, my b16a came from jap, and is a hydraulic gearbox, rather than cable.. so I had to change it, no matter what..
But I'm not sure if the b18c is hydraulic or cable...

local wrecker..
Still has minor problems, which I'll have to get fixed..
(an example of the problems you'll have to face when doing the conversion..)

hmmmm its sounded more an more of a pain in the ass
i was thinking of importing a b16a engine swap kit from the states as they are very cheap
also considering spending alot more and getting a b16b swap kit from the states, if i figure i will save about 900 anyways on engine mounts as the engine is from an ek anyways
to much screwing round though just need to find a nice b16a or b18c and go from there
how much did you pay for labour on your engine conversion?

a b16b will definitely be unique.. i paid 3500 all up, including disc brake conversions etc. But i'll probably end up having to pay another few hundred/few grand to get it to the way i want it to be..

But if you want to do a conversion.. find a recommended mechanic from these forums, and go for the b16b or b18c i'd say..

did they offer you it as a package or did you have to siurse the engine and then look for a shop?
sorry about so many questions

They did it all for me..
I got the engine from another EG (EG9 SiR) into my EG, so it was pretty much transferring everything in..
I had a look at the engine, started it up and everything before I went through with the conversion..
Just didn't like the service from them though.. kinda shocking..
