i think my g/b may be on the way out- ne1 with a JDM EG6 box eva had 'nick' problem with high rev 3rd gear change? ive only just put in a new organic clutch, too.
If it is about to crap itself, is it possible to fit a s2000 or integra 6spd box, or will that be a waste of time?
Any feedback appreciated

As said , orignal poster - find another bseries gearbox to suit ...such as a b16a2 or b18c.

That's what I was saying ? z3lda said that the integra gearbox was from a k series, I was just informing hoonda that integras came with b series gearboxes too..

s long s its the same series engine eg d, b, k, f.....
so if urs is a b16a engine, any b series gearbos will fit

i've seen a guy fit a nissan 200sx s15 gearbox to a d16y8 block. transferred 30% extra power from the flywheel to the rear wheels in his EG7 sirIII

Wouldn't the d series spin the other way?
5 reverse gears?
Anyway your problem sounds like it could be a worn syncomesh. Don't need a new box for that.
