Hi All,

I am new to this Forum & came for help after taking my Honda Civic to a few mechanics & spending money without any output.
My Engine Oil is leaking from the red colour indicated part shown in the attached image.
I do not know the name of that part but Oil is leaking beneath that part.
It started when I got my Timing Belt replaced but timing belt is on the other side of this leaking.
Please kindly tell me what should I do as I have already spent about 400$ to different Mechanics claiming to replace some seal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks a lot 2MPRS.
As I have no experience of doing any car mechanical work, please guide me if it is easy to do.
If not, please let me know of some good mechanic who can take care of that in fair amount of money.

Best Regards,

hmmm if does ek1 have vtec solenoids too? Are you sure its from that area and not coming from your transmission area?

Hi Mattsrea,

How do I confirm that if the oil is coming from the Transmission area ?
Please advise. Thanks.

get a cloth and brake cleen and wipe up all the dripping excess oil from the area, (everything), then run the engine or a little drive and then you should be able to pinpoint the exact spot its coming out from :)

I tried that a few times & unable to find out other than from beneath the area under Vtec Solenoid Gasket.
Is there any good mechanic or person near my area (Merrylands, 2160, NSW), who would be able to fix & I am willing to pay.
I just need an expert as I already went to a few mechanics & no one has been able to fix the issues.
It is very hard to find a good & honest mechanic.
Please help. I will be highly obliged.

Many THANKS......

Um well, you can try "the honda doctor". I'm not sure where they are but im pretty sure its close to merry lands. They should be 100% be able to fix it for you if you really don't know whats wrong with it.

Thanks a lot 2MPRS for looking at my Car & providing me the address of James in Blacktown. I went to James located @ 6 Chicage Ave, Blacktown & he had a thorough look at my car, washed it & then also drove it. According to him, Head Gasket is fine & Transmission Oil need to be flushed & replaced with genuine Honda Oil & Vtec Solenoid Gasket to be replaced. He said that Engine RPM are fine but car is not going into higher gears as it should. Have got an appointment next Saturday & will hopefully get the car fixed. I was highly impressed by James as he inspected the car thoroughly.
Will update next week.
