i just bought a set of used enkei 17 inch rims and they came with 235/45/r17. 1 came without a tyre and i was wondering what size would be the best? cause they just look too big on my car. do i need lower profile tyres?

For your case the lowest profile is 205/40/17, i would not go any wider on a DC2 with a 17" rim. Not much you can do with a big rim. 16" are perfect for an DC2 IMO.

yeahh i couldnt find any 16's so i decided just to go with 17's. i thought they would be okay on them. atm ive got 18's on them. as stupid as that sounds. they were on the car when i bought them. do u know how much do they go for? the 205/40/17?

depends what type of tyre you want performance/comfort/safety.

So are you saying the rim looks bigger or the entire wheel? If it is the rim, its probably because the profile on the 18 is lower than the 17...

just like in general, the 17's is just higher than the 18's. so yeah the 17's felt bigger than the 18's.

That will be fine as long as offset isnt too low

i have a set of 17x8" momo. the rears are wrapped in 215/40/R17 and the fronts are wrapped in 235/40/R17, i only get drip at take offs at 225 and higher, coz the car is turbo'd.
the max you can fit without spacers is 225 at the rears and 245 up front, thats on my car and i have tested thats, its a DC2 btw.
hope this helps

45 profile on 17" rim on a dc2 will grind on the inside wall specially while turning
