Hey guys wanna get a hondata for my b18c7 obd2 in a 99 civic.

Currently running an ek4 wiring harness.

Is it possible to use the p28 ecu? They go for about 500 on eBay delivered.

Or should I buy a hondata unit and socket myself?

When this is done who tunes these things?

Are you saying it is $500 for a P28 ECU WITH Hondata already installed? If it is just $500 for the ECU, then that is too much. I bought a P72 ECU for $100 bucks which can be socketted and have the s300 chipped into it. I suggest you get S300 btw.

Yes you can use P72,P30 or P28 which is basically ANY OBD1 ECU with VTEC and is 5 speed manual. You wll also need a OBD2a to OBD1 conversion harness.

If you are conifdent with socketing and have the necessary tools, then go for it.

As for tuning, this link has a list of tuners:

Hope this helps.

Yes. Already socketed. So that will plug straight in?

Not straight in. Like infurNOS said you will need an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness. Then it will plug straight in.

What modifications has your B18C7 got? Is it even worth getting the ECU + tuning (probably looking at a good $1500 here)?

Re the above link does anybody know of any other tuners in Sydney for Hondata? Does it make a difference who does it?

Is croydon racing developments the only one left in Sydney?

Yes. Do I need camgears

You do not need them, but they are ideal as they allow you to shift the powerband, making your camshafts more effective.

a S300 is not a straight plug into a socketed ECU, the ECU needs to be setup for the S300 differently.

well if your ECU is rectangular get a S300 if its square you need S300J

I can prepare the ECU for you if you need it done.
