What are your agreed values guys?
I have an 2002 with 115000km on it in perfect condition worth at least $26000-27000
Last year my agreed value was $28000
Premium is $1381 under my dad who is 60 years old rating 1 driver.
Now my insurance renewal is coming up with a $21000 agreed value and I've spent ages on the phone with RACV and the maximum they will do is $21500, I had a similar argument last year and got it up to $28000 but they wont budge this time. They gave me the contact number of glassguides (who they get their values from) and said to dispute it with them, these guys base their values on pickles auctions which is complete bullshit as we all know how much cheaper cars sell at auctions. The guy was trying to tell me that the value of my car was between $16000 and $17000.

Which company are you guys with and whats your agreed values and premiums?

Just got a quote from them, agreed $27k and $880 P/A.
Trying to find their policies and disclaimers though as our insurance brokers warned us that a lot of these insurance companies have shifty policies.

I have the same issue with agreed value. I got approximately 5 quotes and all were valuing between $14,500 and 15,200 for a 1999 S2k with 140,000km. Ended up signing with Coles insurance for and agreed value of $17,900, which was the highest I could negotiate. Premium is $840. I'm am 34 years old rating 1, live in Mentone VIC and all drivers need to be above 30.

All the insurance companies advised that they get their values from glasses guide/ Redbook. As you know, the value to replace a 140,000km in good condition is at least $18k.

My premium was high until I turned 30 years old. You can generally play around with your insurance excess to influence your premium. My excess is $600.

I have only recently signed up with Coles insurance (last week) after being with Youi for a number of years (Youi would only value my car at $16,100), but I'm a little worried as Coles customer service is lacking, after calling them yesterday, compared to what I'm used to with both Youi and Bingle.

On another note, I received an an email from Dodo announcing they are now doing car insurance. Can any share their experience with Dodo?

Anyone not insuring their s2k with Shannon's is getting ripped off, I have an agreed value of over 30k (2001 ap1) and pay somewhere around the $900. Mark for full comp.

Seriously if you are not on p plates call Shannon's and see what they can do for you.

I also have the supra insured with them and that is even cheaper!

I just recently bought a 99 S2K... Got insurance with RACV.. Agreed $16k they wouldn't go any higher.... Paying $1.8k a year, 23 yrs old... Shannon's needed to be over 25 I think, and below 5,000kms or 10,000kms a year... Can't regardless of my age and I use my car as a daily

shannons has no such policy on over 25 and the amount of k's you do.

They look for "driving experience" and the number of k's doesnt even come in to it.

I've been insured with them since I was about 20. My rate (25yrs, $25k value) is 1300 I think. Something around there anyway.

How the hell are you all getting such cheap quotes!?!?!?

I'm 27, rating 1 and paying $2.2k / PA for agreed value of $22,000...

I have a garage, decent suburb blah blah... WTF is it cos the thing is turbo? Any other turbo owners or highly modified owners out there? Who you with and how much you paying yo! Help a brother out. Not many people will insure a modified S2k... Shannons and Rhino will do it

I just changed from Just Car to AAMI. I got my renewal letter from Just Car asking for a $1780 and lowering the value of my car (No at fault claims made). I did a quote with AAMI and they did it for $1030 with a slightly higher agreed value and less excess.

I wonder where hawkeye2jz lives.

He, like me has a good deal with Shannons. My $660 appears very good, although I could not get them up to his agreed value, even with only 32000Km on the thing.

I live 25Km from the outer Brisbane suburbs, & at least 20Km from the nearest township. It does appear that where the car is kept is probably quite critical to the cost of insurance.

2000 Model with 140K (stock) - Insured with Shannons (full-comp) for $1200 under limited usage policy (agreed value 20K). I'm 35 with no claims and an excellent driving history and car is stored in a locked garage.

Just to put it into perspective my mate (same age and driving history living in a more risky suburb) had his Audi TTS insured for $1200 pa through RACV at an agreed value of 70K. Doesn't make any sense!

Seems to be huge variations with similar age and driving history, even with the same insurance companies :S

2001 with 39500 Km, $26000 agreed value, with Shannons, $660.
Budget direct was a little cheaper.

Of course I'm 70, with 3 cars on the same policy, average 4500 Km on each, paying $1470 for the 3.
& a totally clean record.

Never mind Todxxx, you'll probably get it cheaper when you're old & crotchety.

I'd rather be young, & paying more for my insurance, but it's no good getting old, if you don't get some luck.
