my friend has a dc2 as well and after a test drive this mechanic said that his engine mount is gettin stuffed??... when u take the car to high revs or the redline and shift from gear 1 and 2 the car seems to make a noticable bang noise from the front part of the car.... but from 2 to 3 is fine ..isnt this normal?? as i thought that in high revs the ride will be rough... i havent noticed it with my own car ill try it later on tonite see if mine makes the same noise...is the mechanic tryin to rip my friend off or hes being genuine.... he didnt check yet just told him that it seems like the engine mounts are stuffed... help wil be great... n he also wanna know if it is stuffed is it expensive to fix...??... thx..

ps. sorry guys if i've written a damn essay....

It is usually the rear torsion mount that is first to go.

Put your cars next to each other and just rev the car at the throttle body using your fingers and then backoff quickly. There shouldn't be excessive movement. Also watch it as you start the car up. You can usually tell worn engine mounts by watching how much it moves :)

so is this a very vital problem??? bad for the engine?? or does it needs urgent fixing strait away??... n does it cost heaps to replace the mounts??...

Worn engine mounts will mean wheel-hop... which will make your car slow for take-off's.

My integra's got the same problem. Mine's so bad that the valve cover is rubbing against the bonnet insulator.

I'm looking into getting the Energy suspension Kit from the US soon.

Its not too hard to do........hardest one is the rear mount because the bolts are a bitch to get to.

always get a 2nd or third opinion.

I could make a brand new DC2 do the same thing. bang bang bang from the dash as you flat change from 1st to 2nd

Guys I'm getting the kit from ONLINE PERFORMANCE.

They quoted me $130 for the energy kit which includes the 2 front and rear mount. But they're currently out of stock. You'd better wait a bit.

Do you guys think a group buy might be possible?

We don't allow group buys on this site.

So they use the stock front tranny mount?

replace that sucker straight away man. I done the wrong thing and drove for 2 weeks with a broken mount and i made an oval out of the hole the bolt screws into on the block. Just change the 1 mount thats stuffed if ya strapped 4 cash cos you'll regret it if u leave it.
