I've tried a couple of led 7443 brake lights on the CU2 with no luck. For example one set that I bought from V-leds, the lights would light up when the headlights were on, but would turn off when I pressed the brake pedal.

About to give up, but want to see if anyone has had any luck. Otherwise I am going back to halogens

Think these are the 1 that would work on the 7443
The 1 you got maybe it for socket 7440.
I had the Cree led n compare to the smd led the Cree led are much brighter and if u thinking off changing the parker lights I would recommend to get the Cree led but make sure you get the right size (W 11mm x H 33mm) do not get the (W 15mm)

I wanna do this but I'm pretty sure it's illegal here to have no reflectors.

Whoops I was thinking of rear brake strips where the reflectors are. My bad.
