Would love to hear some justifications so I can understand and learn, not just names.

Its cause xforce is good value for what it is. As claimed by Adrian at toda.
Best headers are japspec toda headers but big investment

I'm using PLM headers on my type s and they have been great, good build quality, and noticeable gains. They have been dyno proven to make similar amounts of power as the bigger Japanese brands. Would recommend them for bang for buck value

RMF Rep 4-1, by PLM.

Helped me make 117kw atw in my DC2 VTiR motor.

DC is usually OEM dimensions hence why it's so cheap. Copy paste on the old headers.

PLM is usually a knock off of a more expensive brand. The PLM headers i have are knockoff hytech headers, properly designed stuff with actual power gains gains in mind

I see. Can't say i like the design or the look of the one linked above but i suppose i can find one with a better design...

So you are saying that PLM offers more performance because it tries to replicate the high end stuff?

There's a few different options for B series.

I used dc sport JDM style 4-1's. Got great power output and the quality of the stainless is great. Wouldnt get 4-1s if u going to lower to much though!

PLM is pretty good for bang for buck.

XForce is good value for $$$.

Also really like the Fujitsubo and 5Zigen items if you can get them.

Pretty much any aftermarket header will benefit your car. They will probably all flow better and save you some weight!

PLM Headers! the boys down at BYP did mine on my TypeS.
Noticeable gains and sounds great! Was no where near as pricey as the big named headers but from what has been shown you get the similar power gains.

none of the header are bang for your buck if you are talking about "hp gain per dollar".

almost most of the header you cvan get will only net you maximum of 10hp, GSR has 170hp standard, so you are not even making 10% of power gain with the best header on the market.

but if you only want something slightly better and doesnt cost you an arm, go for Xforce, at least you are supporting the australian market :)

Be wary of 5Zigen fellas, on more than one occasion they haven't been built to the quality you're expecting from an 'Exhaust Specialist of Japan'. Minor leak issues along with some erm, disappointing results shall we say have taken all the shine off 5Zigen for me personally. Stick with FGK or Kakimoto Racing [Not much for Honda though from Kakimoto Racing] and you can't go wrong =)

If you can get a 2nd hand one from say Yahoo JP then its worth considering otherwise all the ones the fellas above mentioned bar Toda/Mugen won't hit your pocket too badly... Don't forget to get a nice Hi-Flow CAT if you don't already have one =)

Cool thanks, any reccomendations on which Hi-Flow cat is trustworthy and reliable?

One that someone hasn't gutted lol [De-CAT]

Anyway I personally went to my favourite exhaust shop [Performance Exhaust] and got Hak to get me a 200cell CAT. Probably some generic one lolz. MetalCAT [Apparently the Aust delivered ones have an ADR number stamped on them to say they're ADR approved but unsure if that'll help you much lolz] usually have a good reputation as do Magnaflow... CATCO I dunno much about and any JDM one is usually crazy priced lol

I've seen FGK leak twice also. They're both good headers but sometimes you get unlucky or the part may be old/worn

You may have had some issues with them, but on some of my mates cars. They are running these headers with no leaks etc, & still in good condition.. Maybe you just got unlucky? Let em know your situation with the part you receive..

I paid $399 a while ago but that was from a former trader. Check out what's going second hand IMO.
