Car Care Products is excited to extend and launch the full range of the German 1Z Einszett Products to Australia. 1Z Einszett have over 75 years’ experience in the Car Care Industry with many of their products not only taking care of your car but also being biodegradable they are also safe for the environment too.

In true Car Care Products style we have to try and test everything thoroughly before we release it to you the customer, and of course to see for ourselves how good some products work and find out what works best in every situation to make sure we can offer the right advice! (That and we are also obsessed and must use everything at least once or twice!)

Below is a BMW X5 that we had the opportunity to try out which you could say was in an very ‘average’ condition after some farm life, and truly needed some love, so came in for a quick ‘pre-sale detail’.

As you can see, it seems the X5 had not cleaned or washed for some time so this was the perfect car as our 1Z Einszett products guinea pig! (with the owner’s permission of course)

First up, we pulled out 1Z Einszett W99 (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/w99_all_purpose_degreaser_concentrate), the product is an APC – All Purpose Cleaner that can be used on painted surfaces, cleaning engine bays, inner arches, wheels, glass, plastics, steel and so on based on the correct dilution (strength) that is required per application.

We used a mixture of 1:4 as shown in the photos below and sprayed this liberally in the inner wheel arches, engine bay area, side skirts, door jams and other fixtures to remove the grime, dust and grease and used the Vikan Wheel & Arch Brush (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/vikan/wheel_and_arch_brush) as well as the Vikan Engine Brushes (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/vikan/engine_and_surrounds_brushes) to agitate before using the high pressure cleaner to rinse over the area.

We found this product to be very effective on some of the dirtiest areas as you can see in the photos and not leave any residue and best of all being non-acidic and biodegradable; safe both on all surfaces, and for the drain.

(This has to be the dirtiest bay we have seen in quite sometime here @ CCP!)

For something different we decided to tape the wheel and use one side with the 1Z Einszett Wheel Cleaner (Felgenreiniger) (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/wheel_cleaner-0) and the other with nothing for a control, but still blasting both with a high pressure rinse. This wheel cleaner worked incredibly well against the grime and the very well-known brake dust caked on by the BMW brakes and removed everything with minimal effort.

For the Interior a combination of products used; firstly 1Z Einszett Universal Surface Cleaner with Odour Eliminator (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/surface_cleaner_with_odour_eliminator) to clean the centre console, dash, door trims and other areas. A unique product to say the least, as you have a surface cleaner combined with odour elimination which left a very pleasant scent for the nose and cleaned as well as you had expected this would be great in smoker’s cars). For lower and really dirty parts of the trim including pedals we used the 1Z Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/plastic_and_vinyl_cleaner), which to our surprise had some incredible cleaning ability for the plastics and vinyl throughout the interior.

The leather also received a good clean with a dilution of 1Z Einszett Blitz (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/anti_frost_washer_fluid_concentrate) followed by the Leather Care (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/leather_care) which left the leather soft and supple, and a natural satin factory like finish. Perfect for the BMW Leather.

To finish the interior plastic trims including dash, doors, console and so on we used the famous 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/cockpit_premium_interior_plastic_cleaner). A product that is very popular with European Car owners due to its near matte like finish leaving your trim looking like it just came out of the factory. Most of all as this product is silicone free it does not leave that greasy film that many other common ‘off the shelf’ products do (we will not name names!)

Now one of the most important things we found many of us forget to even do, and that is sanitising your air conditioning system and for some cars replacing your ‘pollen/cabin’ filters to ensure you are breathing clean air as we do have our aircon set usually to ‘recirculate’ due to the amount of atmospheric pollution in our cities nowadays. For this step something that I personally was eager to try was the Klimacleaner Aircon Sanitizer Treatment (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/air_condition_treatment_klima_cleaner). It had an unusually long hose/nozzle that is to be fed into the centre of your air conditioning vents and pushed all the way through allowing a foam like substance to spread into your system.

The 1Z Einszett Klima-Cleaner Aircon Treatment (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/air_condition_treatment_klima_cleaner) left a very pleasant smell which was easy on the nose and would leave the car in days to come with a nice scent and remove all bad odours.

http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn91/carcareproducts/DSC_0822_800x531.jpg

As the engine bay was now incredibly clean and tidy it did need some sort of depth and protection back into the plastics. 1Z Einszett Rubber & Vinyl Protectant (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/rubber_and_vinyl_protectant) was applied to the plastics and also followed to be used on the plastic areas on the bumper and also arches. Leaving a natural satin finish without the greasy film and being SPF40 protectant, it was perfectly suited to Australian conditions.

Tyre wise we decided to go against all our beliefs and use a Tyre Foam in an Aerosol (shock horror!), although we are not generally a fan of this type of product, we definitely must give this one a big thumbs up for ease of use, the small jet spray and the semi-gloss finish it left. We have to give it to the Germans for a decent tyre based dressing in an aerosol! See below with the 1Z Einszett 1Z Tyre Foam Dressing.

For door, window and boot rubber seals many European and other Vehicle Manufacturers recommend that you apply some protectant to nourish these 2-3 times a year. 1Z Einszett Gummi Pflege Stift (Rubber Care Stick) (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/einszett_1z/rubber_care_stick_gumme_pfledge) is incredibly easy and simple to use with its foam head; simply run it over the rubber seals and allow to dry. Quick, easy and it also returns them to black from common brown, greyish like finish.

The final touches on the paintwork we thought we would use Autobrite Cherry Glaze (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/autobrite/cherry_glaze) which is classified as an all in one (AIO, basically means it contains light abrasives, cleansers, glazes, filling properties and protection all in one). Perfect for a quick one step to make any paintwork look pretty reasonable or for a presale detail if you like. This will protect your paintwork, correct a little and hide a lot of marks, whilst at the same time adding some depth and gloss. Best of all unlike many other similar products on the market this is safe to go over plastics and rubbers which will in fact darken them and also contains a very nice cherry scent! (it is all about smells for us at CCP!)

As you can see below in the 50/50 shot the difference one pass made over the paintwork and plastic. Now remember, this is not a product to “Correct” your paint, however will hide as many of the marks it possibly can for a short time, 4-6 weeks maybe. This is not our normal practice at CCP but the owner only wanted the car to be ‘shiny’ and clean to sell, and not fully corrected (shame as this was a nice car). The process was done with the DAS6-Pro RO polisher (http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/car_care_products/enthusiast_random_orbital_kit)and a Yellow Menzerna Pad to add a little more cut, while refining nicely.
