Is this the correct spot to jack up the car?

Hells no.

For the front. Go to the front of your car, kneel down, There is this round bit of metal that hangs down in the middle (a bit to the passenger side). Thats the jacking point.

what pho said,

if youre jacking from the side, theres the piece of metal next to your sideskirt under the front doors near the wheel.

Interesting, my manual only had the side support points. But I needed that place to hold the jack stands (going to buy a jack + stands soon) just to keep it on the safe side.

By the way, anyone heard of Pro-lift before?

I really want one of them but I don't know anyone who has Costco's member

I've heard good reviews for jacks from costco. I don't have membership either.

But why not pay an extra $9 and get 2 stands, creeper, and that plastic thing (as above link)

You should invest in a twin pump aluminium jack. Easy to lug around and a good investment.

I am a costco member, should totally go and buy one.

I think I can take one person with me when I go there.

Because the Costco jack is the bomb. It's lightweight aluminum, lifts your car in 4-5 full pumps and is a lot lower than that heap of scrap metal that comes with free leaks.

Do you know if they have stock? I've heard that they are always out of stock. It's quite a drive for me to get there 40-50ish mins.

I can always wait outside haha

Can anyone verify? If you don't use it, where else can you jack the car up? D=

That's pretty much it Dan
I use to use it once a week. Virtually every weekend and it has given me NO problems what so ever
It will easily lift my car and lift it high enough so i can put my stands under the pinch wields and have me under the car with heaps of head room
Don't do what i did and have a hand me down supercheao auto one - couldnt even left higher than 25cm... And even then it wouldn't hold pressure
Only down side of my floor jack - its foockin heavy, over 30kg's hahaha

The jacking point tends to dip in abit.
I ended up making an additional bracket for mine as it dipped in.

BTW if people are interest i've got a Costco membership, maybe we can organise a group buy and all go down together.
Pretty sure i was able to bring in like 3-4 ppl last time, they just don't let anyone buy without a card.

How did you make the bracket? Is it possible for you to take a quick photo?

Yes! I'm up for a group buy but don't have a membership card :(

+1 for costco jack, got one for my car and its ground clearance is about 7cm and lifts to 50cm. good enough for me.
