View Full Version : Strange High Flow CAT Noise/Sound

Just got a magnaflow high flow cat installed and there seems to be a loudish hissing type sound coming from the cat. Is this consistent with high flow cats?

Sounds a little bit like a turbo spooling hissing-suction noise?

Anyone with High Flow Cats can comment?

sounds like ur pod dude, u sure its coming from ur cat?

Oops :confused:

Nah its standard air filter pretty sure its coming from the cat as the sound only appeared after a high flow cat went in :(

Any ideas??

i cant understand why a cat would make a hissing noise... was gonna say exhaust leak, but it wouldnt hiss would it?

I think your exhaust have leakage. Go to exhaust shop to check it!!

Never heard of such a problem when a high flow cat is installed, maybe the gasket is not tight enough or worn out...

is it making this tingy noise??

like.. like rice in a tin can rattling?

cause mine makes that noise too.. i thinks its the elements making some noise baby!!

i believe thats just the cat expanding after youve given it a bit of a fang..
the metals expanding from the heat!

yep. Same thing happened to me. I tighten up the bolts. it was fine again

Its brand new, not sure about the gasket tho :(

Nah its not a tin rattling noise. More of a hissing type turbo spooling sound definitely coming from the cat :(
