B16a2 into an Ek1

Hi there ozhonda!

I hope i can get some help/advice/sence of direction in swapping a B16a2 from face-lift Em1 into a a Pre-Facelifted Ek1 with a D16y4. I dont know whether the pre-facelift/facelift civic models mattter in this.

Ive been given an opportunity to buy a B16a2 from an Em1 off a good friend of mine.
And i'll be putting it in my Ek which currently has a D16y4.

What would i need to help me to complete with engine swap?

Etc;
- ECU
- Gearbox
And anything else that ive missed.


Help would be greatly appreciated.

isn't em1 Obd2 and you're ek Obd1 , also Engine mount's? wouldn't that need to be changed ( Also i hope someone answer's this , im pretty keen on doing a conversion aswell ,goodluck)

Is that all you are getting off your friend, just the long block it self? If so, you have a lot of parts finding to do! Way better off finding a half cut...

Em1 is OBD2B, is slighty differ to all EK which are OBD2A

As far as conversion goes, plenty ppl done it, except me lol, im sure some guru will come out an answer that

Im such a noob in regards to all this so i'll appreciate as much help as i can get.
Im sure its just the engine he's offering.. Not sure on the details yet.. Cause he just offered the engine.. I havnt put any money down for it yet.

You will need to get a b series geaebox.

You will need
-An EK4 loom
-EK4 ECU (can use EM1 ECU with a conversion harness)
-EK4 or EM1 rear engine t-bracket
-EK4 or EM1 front bracket (the one the air con bolts to)
-B series gearbox (preferably B16A2 or B18C7)
-Front driver side engine bracket

All of your actual D16Y4 mounts can be reused, you just need the brackets.
There's probably still some I missed, my memory is a little foggy.

U will also need b series shift linkage and drive shaft.

If u keeping your ac u need a ac bracket of a delsol or crv to use ur d series ac compressor
