Vtec problem, cuts off when vtec hits

hey , i have a problem with my civic, as soon as it hits vtec it kindof like cuts off,

ust bought the car and haven't restarted the ecu by disconnecting the battery due to the immobilizer.

Lets not drift too far off topic - but your comment was NOT justified and plain stupid. There is a HUGE difference in a defectable part or modification - and a punched out or removed catalytic convertor.

OP - check your car convertor.....if its damaged or blocked replace it. Dont simply "punch it out". The performance gain is not measurable on most cars.

it would become worse as the revs increased because the greater amount of gas trying to exit would be blocked, a bit of gas would find its way out so therefore low RPMs wouldnt be as affected. its like having a smaller exhaust a VERY small one.

but yes the lower revs would feel funny too

I would imagine your car would of been running harder to climb the revs with a blocked cat, when you bashed it out and cleared it, your car wouldn't have been running as hard to climb revs

not sure if its all mental like a placebo

they would have to do 10's of thousands of RPM per minute to actually force air, and then the ones which are in situ and dont spin wouldnt actually create "whirling air" for better mixture because the air flow would be destroyed by the time it got through each of the manifold pipes and through the valve.
