View Full Version : miss my s2000 :(
Hi all,
Not a day goes past without me regretting selling the s2000. It's been about a year now and i still cant stop wishing that the wheel i'm behind was the s2000's.
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k494/Alpish/2011-11-21084802.jpg
I put a deposit on a White GTS 86 Manual and was expecting delivery early next year, but cancelled a day ago because i just couldn't bear think that i buy it and still miss the s2000.
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k494/Alpish/2011-11-21084836.jpg
I'm still contemplating on whether i buy another s2000 or not.
If i was to, would it be an old AP1 or wait for a very recent AP2 model..
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k494/Alpish/2011-11-21085333.jpg
I think to myself, i wouldn't help myself but want to mod it and a later model AP2 being modded would be like torture.
to me the s2000 was like my puppy love, it was love on first site, love so perfect, but i stupidly took the advice of other elders around me and sold her to someone else.
I dont even know if i buy another s2000, would it be the same as my fist one? would i have that same connection with the next one?
Anyways, thought i'd express my thoughts to my fellow ozhondanians..
Ps. i've been driving a s13 silvia around for a few months now.

If you're still being fukked around with I would advise against it, but then again they'll key every car that you own. I'm going through the same phase now, and after talking with lots of people around me, elders included. People that want me to sell the car as well, pretty much to notice immediate benefit.
But you gotta think, if you keep getting pushed into selling, then making purchase, you'll keep getting caught in that cycle, some people like to be in that cycle, I personally don't. About to turn 21, I'm looking to get a house by around 24, so with every decision I make, it's a final stress free decision of no turning back. So if you really want to get another s2000, you gotta consider that you won't be pushed into selling it AGAIN and then end up picking another one up AGAIN, it is a waste of money cycling cars and parts.

maybe have a car rego plate that is lower profile?
tbh i never understood why people buy plates, or customise their cars to something overly personal. it just creates attention and can work against you (angry ex, jealous morons, general wankers)
The wheels are work emotion xd9s.
I don't think it was hate. I think it was more so the young kids roaming round the streets with nothing better to do.. But I've since moved out of the area..
I think I will look for an AP1.
I feel proud that my name is plated on the car. its hard getting your name on plates. Dunno. Guess everyone's different. I prefer my name than a stupid plate like CMEFLY or IMDLAW or INDEBT or I could go on for ever..

dont get me wrong. your own name on the plate is wicked, definitely something to be proud, but i (personally) wouldnt put it on something that i had to drive daily and leave unattended for any period of time. but hey, its all about how comfortable you are about it.
Nah I understand what you mean about having it on a car which is a daily that is going to be left unattended.. Anyways.! Threads about me missing my s2 and maybe getting another s2 or not lol.. Or I may hold onto the s13 and get something turbo when I'm off ps

I had a similar feeling with Skylines. I had an R33 GTST and loved it but it was written off in a hail storm a few months after I bought it. I decided to buy something more sensible, so I got a Celica and that made me miss the Skyline.. So I sold the Celica and bought another R33 GTST. I was in love again for a few more months but I got sick of it pretty quickly lol... Now I have an S2000 and plan on keeping it for a long time.

I miss mine. Nearly 7yrs of ownership has that effect I guess. Don't get me wrong the NSX is what I thought it'd be - a maturing of age comfty GT luxury cruise car, solely for weekends to lightly mod out, but I miss the capabilities of speed / going fast.
My old car is for sale too atm. I contemplated buying it back a few months ago, but I know it has that shit Comp Stage 4 clutch still in it so I refuse to buy it. It also looks like aids with an ASM front and RPF1's.. New owner only did 3000KM in it. *shrugs*

I was always too big for it, and to be honest the S2k community is nothing like it was. I look at the examples I see for sale on forums, and laugh at how poorly maintained alot of them look.

I fell in love and bought my CRX SiR. Would never sell it and if I did I know I'd never forgive myself.
You can't put a price on that pride of ownership and connection that a driving purist has with their car. Most people don't understand how it's such a deep set way of life, not just a hobby or a material object.
Buy another one and make it your own IMO. Before you get tied down with children and stuff (if you aren't already).
And I have my name on my plates too. My GF bought the plates for me. I love it :D
I don't see the pride in owning a CRX.

Nah I'm not going back to an S2000. Next step once the NSX sells is an F355. My other childhood dream car.

Cant agree with you more about how bad the s2000 community is now, its slowly dropped off over the last 3 years or so.All the good owners have either disappeared or sold there prime example to some p platers for them to distroy it.the new owner used to live near me until he moved to SA. Did you sell the car with the kw's on it

I need to sell it first, and given I keep spending money on it (pick up my NSX-R wing on Saturday), its becoming harder and harder to part with..

What do you reckon about the 355 GTS in Sydney? Was only $95k.

I tested that one and it was 139k then down to as low as 95k. With. 68k kms it would be nearly worthless by the time you had been done with it.
It was a heap of shit condition wise. Full respray was performed on it, needed huge service and had a heap of deferred maintenance.
They all look great in photos but unless your willing to spend to buy a sorted quality example I'd stay clear, especially for a supermodel like the F355- you gotta pay to play : )

dont get another s2k man.. i was the same with my civic. it was written off so i bought another one, i never even washed the second one. sold it off straight away. it just wasnt the same..
bought a 180sx after that, rode it for all its got, blew the motor, sold it and now have my turbo pulsar. once you go turbo you will never look back.
id suggest saving up, and grabbing a new model, clean, turbo car.. even something like a clean s15 if you can find one.
hi all, ludecrs, i thought that was your old one. no one else has gp sports pods and skirts. LOL! i was looking at getting an AP2 but i want to mod and have fun and not worry so much. with an ap2 i cant even think about molesting it after spending soo much moer on it. so i'm looking at another ap1. only down side is insurance will not cover it for as much as i can buy it for. when i got into another s2000. its like falling inlove again. my chest felt funny and heavy.. girls just wish i could have the same feeling for them. LOL!

Thx for the heads up, it was something I was eying off.
I only put like 3000KM a year on my weekend cars, if that.
In last 2yrs S2k did 1k, and NSX has done 3K in KM's. lol.

Lol.. was gonna say that to u, buy another one and go nuts but u already came to the same conclusion..
The parts list has grown recently and it's also dropped a little bit. Besides that. You what to look out for now that u owned one... Especially if ur gonna drive an s13 instead.. I admit they are fun, but not as much fun as the s.
If u miss boost.. Run boost on the s2.. :p
Hey Alps, was it you that I saw last Tuesday driving by Watergardens station? Dark blue S2k, white wheels, green P-plates (rear one tucked next to number plate on the right side) and standard issue number plate starting with Y?
