Hey guys
Buying an s2000 tomorrow and need insurance. I've tried the usual just car, bingle, racv etc however they are either ridiculously expensive or they're devaluing the car by about 5k.
Can you please let me know how much you pay p.a and how much that covers your vehicle for?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks charlie

put the insurance under your parents name and list yoursrelf as one of the additional drivers
I saved heaps of $$$ by doing that through full comp insurance

^ Even if you put your parents as the main driver and then you put yourself. I found that the price was exactly the same when i tried it. They seem to measure the cost price of your insurance by the age of the youngest driver.

5 grand just for insurance? geez. In Manitoba, Canada, there is just 1 insurance company, we just have to pay whatever they ask, but it is always very affordable. It's $450 per year to insure my big truck, about $1100 to insure my '93 accord 4dr which I am driving now, I am getting a '93 prelude Si this week so I'm going to try their online rate calculator (https://www.mpi.mb.ca/Irc/vehicle.asp), lmfao, I completely forgot, the icon they use for the rate calculator is a Prelude! apparently it will cost ~$1299 to insure the prelude for a year.
you guys should move to canada.
it's funny, though, MPI = Manitoba Public Insurance, they named it like that because it was owned by the province and completely public, but the province felt that since a private company wastes less money than a public one, that they sold the whole thing off and now they operate privately, so their rates are higher but they get audited and have to send money back to all their customers almost every year, it's not unusual to get 1 or 2 refund cheques back per year. Ridiculous setup but we don't have to worry about 1 company being more of a rape than the next. We all get raped evenly.

No point asking here, because you wont pay the same price anyway.
Just call around.
You'll also get cheaper prices if you call rather than online quote.
