Hi guys

My first thread :)

I'm sort of a car noob, so please be nice. ^^

This is what I want at the moment: I don't plan to lower the car's suspension just yet. Im trying to keep the wheels as close to the standard as possible. I drive a 10' CU2 base model.

Anyway, I stumbled upon a good deal (as least I think so)

Do you guys think:

1. That this wheel (XXR 527 18 x 8.75) + tyre (pirelli p zero 235/40/18) combo is a sweet deal ($2150.00 plus free shipping)?

2. That the wheel's 18x8.75 width will cause any trouble (standard lux version is a 18x8) with the handling or it doesn't matter since the pirelli tyre's width (235/40/18) is the same as the standard (235/45/18)?

3. I am not sure about the offset but what do you guys think should be the right offset. I think the standard offset is +55 (honda wheels) but would a +45 be OK?

I note that since the tyre profile is 40, the car will be slightly "lowered" since the standard tyre profile is 45.

Your opinions are much appreciated.

First things first, u wont meet the min legal load rating of 98 with 235 40 18, for insurance and roadworthyness.

I'd also stay away from Tempe and Ozzy tyres.

1. Seems very overpriced. As poster above said, probably best to stay away from those kind of places. You are paying full retail and then some. On ebay those wheels are 1k shipped and can get pirelli in that size for 185 each = 1740 total. Still I wouldn't pay 1k though for cheaply made chinese replica brand wheels but that is just me. A good price would be around 1400-1500 total.

2. The wheel will only be about 15mm closer to the guard so won't cause any issues at all. But stay with 235/45/18. Not only will this fill in more guard space, which looks better since you won't be lowered, but this size has the 98 load rating needed that the stock size has.

3. fine

Did you have a bad experience with either one of them?
